A lot of the jobs that are not going to be significantly upended by technology do not require a high intellect eg the care economy,  so having more people of this kind is not a huge issue on this basis, and in fact will be needed

The keys remain control of valuable resources and relative dedication to enterprise, which will still attract enough of those with the capacity to drive technological and geopolitical strategic advancement

As far as unrest goes, placating through virtual escape (along with some form of ubi) will help on that front, particularly with younger types who are most prone to a bit of rumble and loot

The math here doesn't necessarily need to happen.  If the 1% of innovators and producers produce enough to give plentiful lifestyles to the rest (and also huge profits to themselves) then there will be no collapse, just an ever increasing lifestyle for all. 

Nuclear power is an example of something that offers almost unlimited benefit.  Digital copies of electronic media allow a movie/picture or film to be distributed without limit once it is produced.

So many problems with the US as it descends at a rapid rate. The US is electronically printing money to use. They back this money with a promise of it's worth but eventually won't be able to back it.  The first country to have printed money was China during the Tang dynasty I believe. When the government needed more money they printed it. Eventually inflation made the money valueless sending the country into chaos.  Modern Venezuela is another example.  People were throwing their paper money in the street in protest because it was valueless.

The second problem is the left handcuffing the police and having district attorneys that won't prosecute their arrests. In order to have a civilized country you need effective policing of pro active cops. You can't have reactive only cops that have a target on their back with constant threats of firing and imprisonment. It makes for passive cops that don't want to get into involved. They know their arrests will be a threat to their job and the ones they arrest will be released the same day with no bail. Months later the district attorneys will quietly drop the charges.  Watch the recent riots with BLM. The cops stand by like security guards. In the past they would be there with bats and hats kicking ass dispersing the crowds.

Another big problem is the global warming scam. It's making a lot of the left filthy rich. If only the US could give trillions to China for electric car batteries, wind mill parts and solar panels we could change the temperature of the world. Meanwhile China is building more coal power plants to run their green energy parts factories to keep up with the US demands. Democrats are making a mint off this scam. In NJ they are outlawing gas car sales in 2035. In the works is for homes to convert to electric heat, water heater, stove and dryer. Also mandatory solar panels. Having two electric cars and converting for a home owner is about $200K a house at minimum. This will crash a house's value and destroy the equity home owners have in their house. Renters don't think you're exempt. Apartments will have to have enough charging stations and convert to all the other crap. Your rent will be through the roof.

Look at all the homeless in blue states lining the streets with tents destroying businesses. This wasn't around 30 years ago in these insane numbers. The left is making this a life style choice. San Francisco is giving each registered homeless person $800 a month with a free smart phone with streaming movies. What should be done is what they did with the "homeless" tents during the Occupy Wall Street movement. Say it's illegal to camp on city streets and parks. Then come with a front end loader and dump truck removing all their tents.  Know what? They didn't return.  If any did they were the true homeless.

The open border is a financial nightmare. We take care of them better than our homeless veterans. In New York city they are putting them up in luxury hotels and the city is paying the bill for their rooms and food. I know two of the hotels because I stayed there numerous times before Biden opened the border. The major of NY said the city is going broke and he wants them to remain in Texas. Same with Massachusetts.
