Some public health experts hope that Americans will welcome the new shot as they would a flu jab. But demand for the vaccine has dropped sharply since 2021 when it first became available and more than 240 million people in the U.S., or 73% of the population, received at least one shot.

I plan on getting it. 

Of note, this one will not be subsidized by the US government so it will cost money to get .. early reports indicated something like $100.  Utter bullshit, by the way - the research was paid for with public funds, and now the pharma companies get to further enrich themselves thanks to tax dollars.

They further enrich themselves because people will voluntarily take a vaccine for a virus that is likely harmless to them.

I trusted the hype, believed in the value of the first vaccines, stood in line the moment I qualified to get it in the early days of fear and misinformation. I regret doing so. Never in my life have I felt so vulnerable to the slightest germ or virus. Maybe it reacts differently for each person, some benefit and some experience decreased immunity and more illness. I had nearly perfect health until I got the Pfizer vaccine. Since then, it is endless respiratory infections and fatigue. I hoped the hype was true but feel I was used in an experiment.

I remember when all the big named Democrats said they would never take a vaccine developed under Trump. Then when Biden got in they were all for it. Same vaccines.

Bet a new variant will be here just in time for the new election so they can mail out a ballot to every registered person.
