I do think it is interesting guys started out eating everything and lifting heavy and made great gains. Then we all got dogmatic started eating chicken and rice and the gains slowed and stopped. Something to think about

You won't make gains if you are constantly training down for contests, keeping bodyfat very low, and over-training by doing very high-volume, physically draining, pre-contest workouts 5-6 days a week.

That's a great way to get in contest shape but makes it hard to grow and get stronger.
