Let`s not forget character actors M.Emmet Walsh,Rip Torn,Bruce Dern,Robert Wilkie,Thelma Ritter,Steve Brodie,Steve Cochran,......and many more....any flick they were in was better than if they were not in it.

WALTER BRENNAN........one of the best of all time....along with the always forgotten Jeff Bridges who never played a bad part in his life.

Hackman has two Oscars, but he doesn't get the acclaim he should. When people start naming great actors, he probably won't get mentioned aside from hardcore movie fans, if he does it's "Oh yeah, Gene Hackman.". He's a firmly high tier A-list actor that doesn't get treated as an A-list actor.

Posting Gary Oldman in an underrated actors thread is like posting Dexter Jackson in an underrated BBer thread.  He has been nominated for Best Actor three times and won it once.  He was a major character in two of the biggest franchises of the past 30 years (Batman, Harry Potter).  He is widely recognized as one of the best actors of his generation.

Very true my Hulkish brother....loved him in "True Romance" Bram Stokers Dracula",and "State Of Grace" just to name a few......great fucking actor.
