The thing is, in clothes, your eyes would pop out if you saw him because he would look like a thick fucking monster. Staying lean all the time is a good way to stay SMALL. And trust me, just because he looks like that in no way means that he is "off."

That's what I have said for years. NO pro BB shoudl get on stage looking like that at anytime. It not only embarrasses them but also the pro BB community. It makes the promoter look bad, the show look bad and the fans feel like they got ripped off. I was at a show here when Coleman came in at about 330. He got up on stage and I swear he had to not been able to hear anything cause of the music, but I swear everyone was laughing and people yelling out "you fat fucker" and a bunch of other stuff. He may be Mr. Olympia but at least look halfway like you are. I mean it was really embarrassing. And most pros including the resident "mouth" come in looking like this. It is an embarrassement. It is true nobody would expect them to look perfect all year long but don't charge a promoter $5,000 to $10,000 plus expenses and rip off the fans who come to see a perfect body. It's a disgrace. I always thought a guest poser should not weigh more than 10 to 15 pounds over his competiton weight to guest pose.

Promoters know very well that Ronnie takes several months off and he looks like that every year.
If they invite him it means that he's still marketable and fans want to pay to see him posing. It's the market. Period.
You don't like how he looks off-season? Don't invite him! I'm sure Ronnie will have a good sleep nonetheless.....

Obvious Ron can still get the appearance money even out of shape, but I can't see this enhancing his rep in any way.

The only way this makes sense is if the promoters insist on him in posing trunks as part of the deal.

He didn't say Coleman was only popular when he was on the sauce. He said he would "be NOTHING without sauce". Reality is that he was huge without sauce (some say he got his pro card sauce free). IF that is true, then he achieved pro status without sauce...making him SOMETHING.
