The problem with libs is that they appeal to every special interest under the sun. And it's a cult: You join and you receive the support of those groups. Your success depends on it. It has nothing to do with beliefs or principles. If you take up an opposing stance on just one of their issues then you become a target of the cult.
She can't defend that. She couldn't define a woman. In doing so (if she were to give a truthful accurate definition of a woman) she would lose a portion of her constituents. And she knows the book is insulting to intelligence, to imply babies are racist. But she can't say that and yet she can't defend it either.
