Does seem a rather unexpected choice for that price range. Still, I'd have expected him to be rocking a typical bodybuilder watch—like an S-Force or shit Richard Mille knockoff.

NarcissistDeity had some interesting things to say about Dorian and Chris, back when Ronnie was still competing.

Dorian said on "Pro Bodybuilding Weekly" that Chris could beat Ronnie with one year of training with Dorian.

That seemed like a bit of a bold claim to me; Ronnie had just competed at 287-lb in 2003, and was even heavier in 2004. Chris was, what, about 255-lb?

Did Chris' partying lifestyle really prevent him from putting on [or holding] 30-lb of muscle mass? Did dehydration from alcohol or other things prevent him from being that size? That's a solid 30-lb...I just felt Dorian couldn't have possibly been correct about that.

Dorian was a bit of a bodybuilding monk himself. Shelby Starnes is that way too...yet Shelby Starnes never got to the point in size or conditioning as Dorian. So I don't think it's simply a matter of being a bodybuilding monk.

Could Chris have REALLY been 30-lb heavier in contest JUST by being 100% dedicated to the level that Dorian was?

I do agree that Cormier had amazing Black bodybuilding genetics. I also understand that his partying held him back somewhat. But to get to Ronnie's size if he had been more dedicated? That seems unlikely to me...but Dorian seemed to think that. Chris did beat Dorian, but never after 1997.

Ronnie was never 287 or 296 competing onstage.  That was made up for the magazines.  I can't believe you believe that crap.  All the other stuff you'll question or reject but not that claim???  You don't believe the reported heights but you believe the made up bodyweights?  I knew a guy who went to the 2004 Mr. O and saw Ronnie in the lobby(or somewhere) and asked him "How much do you weigh this year?" and Ronnie replied "270, same as last year".  270 was Ronnie's max contest weight, not 296.

Is that what that brand is? Hahaha!!! I didn't know that.

Yes, Rich Piana had some giant watches. Once at the Orlando Pro, I saw JM Manion with an even bigger watch than the ones Piana wore.

Whoops! My bad.

Yes, I meant Ronnie.

Chris beat Ronnie five times in 1997, including at the Olympia. But never after that.

I was going by the weight Ronnie claimed in the Battle for the Olympia 2003 DVD, and what was reported elsewhere. That figure could be wrong...but Ronnie's claimed weight in 2002 was 245, and in 2001 was 265. I felt that based on those previous claimed weights, that Ronnie was 287 in 2003.

Also, Jay was reported as being 255-lb in 2003. I thought Ronnie looked around 30-lb heavier.

That being said, I do think 270-lb could be correct. Even 270 is pretty massive. I didn't really have any reason to doubt Ronnie's claimed weight, and I also felt he was comparable to Markus Ruhl, who was said to be in the 285-293 pound range.

My experience from expos are that bodybuilders are pretty bang-on about their heights. As for their weights, you had situations like Dexter Jackson missing the weigh-ins at the Ironman every year while claiming 235, and Kai Greene weighing in with like 10-lb of clothes on, lol.

So I found that bodybuilders didn't much lie about height, but lied a bit more about weight. I didn't have any reason to doubt Ron's claimed 287-lb weight, but he could have been 270-lb as well.

In 2005, Ronnie was one of the only bodybuilders who followed the IFBB memo to reduce mass for the Olympia. He came in smaller than 2003, and he was said to be 275.

Here are shots of Ronnie in 2003, where the 287-lb body weight claim was made:

His entire collection was worth around $2000, lol. He was always a brutally insecure manchild. 'And welcome to myyyy.....bedroom.' Hahaha. He knew if he said 'crib' MTV would have sued him.

I'm betting the over 270 claim was for hype purposes and Ronnie slipped and told his true weight.  Ronnie is truly massive in 2003 and beyond but not nearly 50 freakin pounds heavier than 1998/1999 when he was 249.  In those offseason shots at the time he's claiming 305 and sloppy(and I doubt he was ever off steroids at that time), I don't think he just dropped 10 pounds and was stage ready.  I think they lie about both the heights and the weights.  The "Joe Weider Height and Weight System" seemed to be add two inches to height and 20ish pounds to weight.

Cutler said in a recent podcast that Ronnie's true bw in 2003 was closer to 270.

Now, in BFTO 2002, he supposedly weighed 275 and looked like a beast, then something happened, and he showed up at the Olympia weighing 245lbs, apparently.

As I recall Ronnie was claimed to have been like 302lbs in some post Olympia show. Lou Ferrigno claimed like 320 or 340 or whatever the hell in 1992. As far as I know no one has been proven to be 300lbs on stage. I forget what Greg Kovacs claimed but I'm sure it was "a lot." That AC he did with Chad he was very well conditioned but looked even worse than when softer.
