Love love Pantera! ...... I still remember we were a little late .... the Orpheum was down like this alley .... as we were walking down ... all the people without tickets were all lined up on both sides .... all of a sudden Crue burst into " Shout At The Devil"!  In the beginning
Good always overpowered the evils
Of all man's sins...
But in time
The nations grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
While evil stood strong
In the dusts of hell
Lurked the blackest of hates
For he whom they feared
Awaited them...
Now many many life times later
Lay destroyed beaten beaten down
Only corpses of rebels
Ashes of dreams
And blood stained streets...
It has been written
"Those who have the youth
Have the future"
So come now children of the beast
Be strong
And shout at the devil (I was like 20) " shout ..shout...  shout at the Devil! " gave me goosebumps!!! To be that young again!!!!  🤘🤘

^^^^ that just sucks man! ^^ I saw them on " The Shout At The Devil Tour" at a small venue in Boston the Orpheum Theatre ...... and again outside in Lynn Massachusetts (the Manning bowl ) Theatre Of Pain tour I think? .... they were amazing both times! 🤘🤘🤘🤘it's Motley Fucking Crue! 🤘🤘

I was there, well, the one where Y&T and Accept opened up for them at least... AUG /1985 (I think)... (Helix couldnt perform since they got a late start due to late equipment arrival... (Crue's)..

So is he still performing because he loves to do it and it's his passion? Or does he NEED to still perform because he's broke? It's fascinating to me when celebrities just blow through all their money. I was at a local fair, yes I'm a CT hick, and Scott Stapp was going to be performing that night. Creed was huge 20yrs ago and now the dude is doing some local fair for a bunch of rubes? Why?!

I’m headed to Power strip next month in California and am wondering how bad Axl is going to sound.

Uh, that’s Vince, solo. And Mick is no longer in Motley, anyway.

I like Neil, but the guy is a wreck and his singing is a travesty.

Like Vince, Axl has always been a studio kinda singer. Where time and “work” can be taken and done.

Rose will sound like Mickey Mouse. That’s the deal.

Combination of being broke and also being addicted to performing. On stage these guys feel like kings. Off stage they are just random guys. There are still people performing who had 1 hit in the 1960's.

I used to like Motley Crue until I listened to a daily radio show with Nikki Sixx. The guy was such a colossal douche bag I've never been ever to listen to them since.

"What I saw in Guns N' Roses that night, it reminded me, not that I needed it, that the pulsations of a garage band virtually uninhibited with youthful enthusiasm can still deliver a Little Richard firestorm.

"Guns N' Roses that night, I went, 'Whoa, who the hell are these guys?!' This frontman [Axl Rose], this is like Mick Jagger meets Steven Tyler, meets Jim Dandy!

"And boy, those are all powerful graphic references, aren't they? I saw what they were doing, I watched what Slash was doing, and the groove of the bass and drums, and the interplay - Stones-like interplay, Beatles-like interplay, The Who, Zeppelin...

"Really the best stuff. So I really went, "Whoa, Guns N' Roses, I'm gonna keep my eye on these sons of bitches 'cause they got the piss, they got the fire, they got the uninhibitedness.'

The Orpheum was my favorite place when I was in high-school. My favorite show there was 7th row, for Maiden (Killers w/ DiAnno) and they opened for Priest (Point of Entry).
Just amazing stuff... saw many shows in there from Alice Cooper to Celtic Frost, Anthrax, Gary Moore, and so on..

Cool. Couldn't find reference to it but Ted is certainly welcome to his view if it changed.
