Prior to watching that interview, I didn't realize that Iain turned pro in 2014. So he turned pro at 23.
When you think about it - how many bodybuilders turn pro closer to Iain's current age [32], then compete for nine years and retire? Is it really so different?
Also - some say that Iain didn't accomplish much as a pro. I would disagree with that. He has had at least five pro wins that I could find online [it looks like the 2021 Texas Pro is listed twice below, but he also won the recent Toronto Pro], and he placed as high as 7th I'm the Mr. Olympia.
So he once walked around as the 7th best bodybuilder on the planet. I think it's safe to say he paid his dues.
Hopefully his financial situation and health are both good. I can't fault him for retiring after nearly a decade of pro level bodybuilding competition.
