I kind of thought it smelled more like rotten toe fungus.  I used it from time to time right before bed.  I'm not sure if it gets me sleepy but when I sleep I go into a very deep, restful sleep and have weird dreams.   If you don't feel anything up the dosage, it should have some effect on you.
