You knew Chabot? He was one of the best benchers ever, and it seems like he doesn’t get as much recognition as we’d expect.
He was a very good friend of mine....trained at the same gym for years.
On a sidenote,his girlfriend worked the gym desk, and told me one night as I was leaving that she was going home to have wild sex with Glen.........me being single at the time responded with....."Well I`m going home alone, and I`m gonna keep in touch with myself cuz I`m the best lover I`ve ever had"!!
I said it jokingly as I knew her pretty well, but she told me that she was gonna` get Glen to kick my ass for talking like that.
The same night the gym owner called me and told me to stay out of the gym for a few weeks as Glen was gonna kill me.........I trained there 6 X a week, and trained a slew of clients, so I told him fuck that no one runs me out of the gym in my hometown.
So I was there at 5 AM as usual and I saw Glen doing Leg Presses across the gym and he started striding towards me,so I figured fuck it the guy could crush me but he has to lay down to do benches again soon, and that would be my time to plant a 45 pound bar across his face.
Anyway,he walks up to me shakes my hand and says "Wes I love you bro,my old lady can be an asshole at times.....I`m sorry,I always respected you and still do".
I was relieved but really wasn`t all that worried......he weighed 315 with abs at the time,but he knew who I knew, so it was squashed.
Good guy.......always cool with me....saw him do a triple with 650 one night.
