He was a strong fucker by all accounts,but I doubt that claim.

Vince Basile would know more about his lifting since they stayed with him or vice versa at one point IIRC.

Now, let's get down to business.  I think this heretofore unknown tape recording of the intellectual giant Ray Mentzer gives us indisputable proof that the Mentzers were "unpersoned" by the Weiders and Arnold. Whoever leaked this tape better be very, very careful that their identity is never revealed.

I think we can see that the younger Mentzer was stronger in his convictions.

I hated Mentzer in print, but both of them are good on video/audio. He reminds me of the Kenny Powers HBO character in this. The Aussie reporter seals the deal.

On the squat claim I don't believe it also, at least not a full squat. The Mentzers did partials and holds sometimes, probably some York influence with that, them growing up so close. I remember Mike talking about doing a #1400 1/8 squat once in a magazine, so I could see the #900 being some type of partial.
