I got into bodybuilding because it’s an individual sport…
« on: October 09, 2023, 12:44:56 PM »
… and I didn’t want my teammates to let me down,” said by bodybuilders who sucked at sports.

What top bodybuilder has not said this crock of shit?

What about the other one: “I was headed for the NFL, but then had a career-ending injury. During rehab I fell in love with the iron and set my sights on being an IFBB pro!”?

I like this one... ::)

"I was given a full athletic scholarship to Bigtime U. from which I would eventually have went on to become a professional athlete earning $millions$ but decided to pursue bodybuilding instead."

I’m no bodybuilder but I’m way more impressed with a bodybuilder than any “real athlete”. Bodybuilders look like what they do and by definition look masculine. No one really would know what you do build wise except bodybuilder as it speaks for itself. Look jacked and badass or throw a ball? No brainer for me. Take money out of the equation and looks win allday.

What about this...

“I gave up my dream of being an author for former US Presidents. Instead of writing their presidential bibliographies, I’ve proudly decided to write a sleazy monthly column in FLEX magazine. I will detail the latest gossip of pro bodybuilders (all of whom are former star athletes)”.

Way more impressed by bodybuilders than these guys, no comparison really. Playing sports seems to be how 99% of the world measures a man for me it is complete nonsense and stupid. Just my opinion.

The thing is without the drugs they look like crap. That's why so many claim they are on hormone replacement when their career is over but they are injecting way more than any sane doc would prescribe.  I know the fans of bodybuilding drugs will shout all athletes use drugs to justify their use so they can use to look good shopping in the mall.  The problem with that is that it isn't true. We have all seen the pictures of champs who aren't even 50 looking like crap even while using test.  The sport is a scam. No drugs and no sport.

I look at the physiques of wrestlers, MMA, sprinters, running backs and Olympic lifters as a goal of what an athletic physique should be.  If any of the ones I previously mentioned was on a bodybuilding stage they would be laughed off by those whose minds are warped by being bodybuilding fans.  If you can find bodybuilding line ups during the 50's it's a great example of what bodybuilding should be now.

I get what your saying and in a perfect world there would be no hormones involved in any way and the best man wins with what he was given but all those athletes you mentioned all use drugs as well.

Bodybuilding is a sport?

I know, right?

The training is preparation ; the competition is a pageant. No different than a beauty contest.

There is no sport.
