You're absolutely right.

I don't know if Keanu Reeves just needed some money the last 2-3 years, but I felt that both Matrix Resurrections and John Wick: Chapter 4 were both subpar for what's expected of his level of action and "Neo-noir" movies. Matrix Resurrections would make any man want to go gay and John Wick 4 just lost the essence of what the movies were originally meant to be (or so I thought). Obviously, between the aforementioned, Matrix Resurrections sucked a massive rubbery one, but John Wick 4 was also a sad way to put the Wick franchise to an end.

I can’t begrudge the director’s success, because he puts a lot of money in the writers’, actors’, and stuntfolks’ (including my son's) pockets.  Look at the box office for each Wick.  Up and Up and Up.

However, they become ever more an endurance contest between holding my interest and my sore ass from sitting.

If the director asked me for my opinion, I’d say look to Enter The Dragon: 102 minutes of dynamite, no fat, and some good laughs throughout.   “I mean here on the island!”

Ironically, the director’s erstwhile partner, David Leitch, was going to make a remake of ETD.

BTW, Wick 5 is in the pipeline.

John Wick 4 was total dogshit. This coming from a guy who watched all the series more than once.  Anyone who thought that was good shouldn't give opinions on movies. Just watched Denzil Washingtons Equalizer 3 last night. I can only surmise he needs money badly. It was by far the worst of the 3 and if you haven't seen it , don't bother.

Filmmakers are very lazy these days

They get a hit and then they milk the same franchise and does so without effort, just getting butts in seats due to the Franchise-name

At least Tom Cruise makes an effort with original stunts for each Mission Impossible-movie

But take Fast and the Furious for example, a few successful ones and then they spew out a myriad of them

As explained, while the fabric may stop the bullet, the impact is quite painful.. dude was nailed 947 times.. not one "ouch!"
Not one accidental head shot from professional assassins. ]
Professional assassins waited their turn when there was more than one assailant. When John was out of bullets, assassins attacked with knives when an easy head shot would take him out.
Only snipers in the series seemed to be on his side.
When one guy takes out 20 trained assassins, it's safe to say the series has jumped the shark.

But the 69' Mustang and 70' Chevelle were the real stars.
