What's next for the GOP House?
« on: October 19, 2023, 10:19:59 PM »
Jim Jordan wasn't selected (Thank God).. there is some deal cooking... expanding the interims powers?

In hindsight, should the House GOP thought this through a bit before voting McCarthy out?

Jim Jordan is a bigger loser than McCarthy.  Which is saying a lot.  McCarthy is/was the weakest Speaker ever to hold the gavel.  It was a pity bone tossed his way because he had to bow out of the prior race he jumped in because he spoke the truth about the Bengihahahaha trials.   :-\     And he couldn't even enjoy his little bone now before it was snatched away.  Cow teeth Jordan would set a new record for most ineffective and incompetent speaker though.

Jordan just lost a secret ballot among GOP members on whether to keep him running as Speaker nominee.   Jordan accepts the result.  Now he can go back to his pasture and continue chewing his cud.

Maybe MAGA can ask Santos to run. He’s the closet thing they have to their Orange turd at the moment.

This has shown :

How weak Kevin was.
How despised Jim is.
How unpopular Gaetz is.

This is the big difference between dems and repubs, dems will throw their support behind ay piece of shit they can in order to gain control while repubs will turn on each other in order to make sure they pick what they believe is the best choice.
That said, they look stupid as hell continually letting this charade play out in front of the public, they need to get their shit together.

Is the House GOP capable of thinking or do they act out giving the consequences nary a thought?

I actually believe this time, they thought about it.... Jordan is just a piece of shit that they don't want to have anything to do with.

Why is the GOP so dysfunctional? No wonder the US is so chaotic whenever a republican is in the White House.

I’m hearing about all of this, which begs the question, why don’t they just get behind the interim speaker? ???

It's beyond embarrassing that the left can get together and support any piece of shit thrown to the top but repubs can't even get enough support for any one single guy.

This is so funny. Hours after winning the GOP nomination for Speaker this dude just quits.

You can’t make this stuff up.  Maybe they should run a help wanted ad in the newspaper.

Who is Rep. Mike Johnson?

According to Social Media Strategist Joey Mannarino, Mike Johnson boasts a Liberty Score of 74%. A representative from Louisiana, Johnson has been a member of Congress since 2017 and has a generally strong voting record.

He played a key role in initiating the Texas Amicus Brief in 2020 and voted against the certification of the 2020 election results, which he viewed as fraudulent. Johnson has been selective in supporting funding for Ukraine, only voting in favor of the initial funding bill.

A strong advocate for national security, Johnson backed Trump’s travel ban on countries considered to be hotbeds of terrorism. He also served on Trump’s legal defense team during both the 2019 and 2020 Senate impeachment trials.

On the social front, Johnson is decidedly conservative. In 2022, he introduced the Stop the Sexualization of Children Act, aimed at preventing federally funded institutions from promoting the sexualization and transgenderization of children.

Additionally, Johnson is a personal friend with Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
