Contrary to what seems like popular belief these days, most addicts are not salt-of-the-earth darlings who turned to vices to escape their “demons” or actual misfortune. They are nervy scumbags who like their vices, and in some cases even take pride in them. And it is we normal people who have to absorb their bullshit. “We need more attention to mental health” (tax dollars) for these troubled dears.
