It's not just about looks. It's the personality, attitude, etc. Sean was the man!

It's a combination of looks, physique, charm, personality etc

His scottish demeanor maybe appealed more than Alains french dryness

Maybe you're right. Definitely when it comes to physique - Connery had more of a man's built vs Delon's skinny frame - but if it were today I'm sure Delon would have definitely beefed as a leading man - as that seems to be standard these days.

True. Kwon did some serious trawling. Attitude, definitely. He was a bit of an ass but people like that about him. Stood up for himself if he was being disrespected; so you can't call him a wimp.
