I Shaved My HEAD BALD 4 Years After Hair Transplant
« on: November 13, 2023, 03:48:40 AM »
Too much bother.
Just shave your head.
Save $$ on haircuts.
Notice the doctor who does these transplants just shaves his head.

I am getting bald also. My main complaint isn't the looks, but more the exposure to sun and cold. Always have to have a hat with me. My apologies to Sam Sulek but i do not wear one when i workout or prep my meals in the kitchen.

I'm definitely getting thinner on top, the last two years. Using Minoxidil 5% spray as well as 1mg finasteride daily since last September (just over a year, now) I've kept my hair very short so haven't really had much comparison compared to the before videos + pics I took before I started. I'm regrowing my hair to that point so can do a comparison - which I'll know before Christmas this year and will post updates about it.

I'm both feeling positive and negative. The area where it was really bad (the crown at the back )seems to look better - much better - but for some reason, the front leading forward seems to have thinned out. So is it working or not? Or is the front issue maybe because I first only started spraying and using the spray specifically for the crown area and should have used it all over?

We'll see. If there's been no progress by Christmas with a good comparison video/pics - I'll stop using it.

Have avoided a transplant, as a last resort, as watching a lot of videos of the bad stories. People only seem to want to post the positive ones - naturally, you don't want to show people you messed up, it's human nature. I ought to add that I'll definitely try the transplant options, if it comes to that. I know it's vain but it's just something I've gotta do.

I have a mate who had his maybe 8 years now still looks as good as the day he got it done I guess like everything it varies in quality.

Didn’t watch the video but assuming it turned to shit in those 4 years?

Look too much of a maniac/hooligan when it's shaved. Seriously. People think I'm nuts. I imagine it's similar to if Christopher Walken was bald.

Cosmetic surgeries turn out badly very often.

Even going to a uber-expensive Beverly Hills surgeon is no guarantee of a good result.

Just a fact as proven by the numerous Hollyweird stars who get terrible results.

You pays your money, you takes your chances.

When a man starts losing his hair it can be traumatic.

What men do to hide it gets ridiculous (comb-overs, hairpieces, etc.)

I started losing my hair in my mid 20s.  Shaved my head in mid 30s.

Too much bother to go through using the hair loss drugs and getting surgeries.

Famous men with little or no hair:

Sean Connery
Jason Statham
Bruce Willis
Dwayne Johnson

Punch of pussies. Just shave and go. Hair transplants companies are rip off merchants who prey on men's vulnerabilities. The hair does not make the MAN.

Incorrect.  You only ever notice the bad examples of cosmetic surgery.

Millions of people have had cosmetic procedures performed and nobody but their surgeon would ever know.

My friend shaved his head and instantly became a cancer patient. It’s not for everybody.

Been told it's a very painfull procedure.

Not really.  It’s a lengthy process but they use local anesthetic and a sedative to smooth things over.

Starting hair loss drugs early, at the first sign of hair loss, is most important.  They are good at stopping/slowing hair loss but not great at regrowing lost hair.  That’s where the need for a transplant comes in.

Regarding transplants, keep in mind an eyebrow is about 250 hair follicles.  So you can use that to estimate how many follicle transplants you’d need.  Best results come from filling in a thinning hairline.  Trying to cover a totally bald scalp is …challenging.  Still not sure how Elon Musk managed it, he was really quite bald in his PayPal days

That's like saying people don't notice hairpieces.

It's always noticeable.

Cosmetic procedures are 9 times out of 10 noticeable.

You may not notice it on a movie screen but up close it looks off.

Nothing I stated is incorrect.

I've had considerable improvements using Minoxidil 5% once a day, and a prostate supplement which includes Saw Palmetto and Pumpkin Seed Oil.

I use the Minoxidil all over the top of the scalp and on the hairline as well, using a dropper which comes with the liquid.

Shaving my hair short also helped absorption of the Minoxidil, without it being wasted in the hair itself.

This is exactly why I went to grade 1+2 for my hair for the past year - to let the minoxidil soak into the scalp. I'm growing it back to what it was to see the before + after after a year, but will then go with a more sensible length than before. You're right about soaking it in - there's no dapper on my spray but I massage it into the scalp 2x per day it says so I do one after the morning shower and one after the night shower before bed so it's on the scalp for the longest time between washes, if you know what I mean.

What's the brand/name of the prostate supplement? Is that specifically for your hair health and it's a side effect of it?

I'm surprised you don't use the Finasteride. The ED sides are very rare and I've yet to come across one person that gets bad sides from Fin. To me - Finasteride is far easier to deal with as it's a little tablet each morning instead of having to fiddle with sprays.

My older brother went to Turkey 3.5 years ago to have it done and it looks great. Paid $4,000 for it there and it would’ve been $18,000 here. He made a two week trip out of it and spent the same amount.

100% honestly - I did not know that Eddie Jordan (Formula 1) wore a wig until a couple of years ago... then someone pointed it out and it is glaringly obvious - how TF did I miss it?  ;D
