This dude went bald and shaved at 21 or 22. Then, Jason Statham shaved.. the rest is his story

100% honestly - I did not know that Eddie Jordan (Formula 1) wore a wig until a couple of years ago... then someone pointed it out and it is glaringly obvious - how TF did I miss it?  ;D

I still can't see it now? It looks natural to me? Maybe I'm terrible at wig spotting.

Gandhi was bald, and we all know how that ended.

I'm definitely getting thinner on top, the last two years. Using Minoxidil 5% spray as well as 1mg finasteride daily since last September (just over a year, now) I've kept my hair very short so haven't really had much comparison compared to the before videos + pics I took before I started. I'm regrowing my hair to that point so can do a comparison - which I'll know before Christmas this year and will post updates about it.

I'm both feeling positive and negative. The area where it was really bad (the crown at the back )seems to look better - much better - but for some reason, the front leading forward seems to have thinned out. So is it working or not? Or is the front issue maybe because I first only started spraying and using the spray specifically for the crown area and should have used it all over?

We'll see. If there's been no progress by Christmas with a good comparison video/pics - I'll stop using it.

Have avoided a transplant, as a last resort, as watching a lot of videos of the bad stories. People only seem to want to post the positive ones - naturally, you don't want to show people you messed up, it's human nature. I ought to add that I'll definitely try the transplant options, if it comes to that. I know it's vain but it's just something I've gotta do.

I think the receptors are different on the crown as opposed to the ones at your hairline near your forehead. So those medicines work better at the crown filling in rather than the receding hairline.

I've heard of botched transplants but if you're already going bald and it's botched don't you just end up shaving your head anyway? So the downside is loss of money. I don't think a bad transplant usually disfigures you with scarring.

I started thinning at the front 1.5yrs ago and I told my wife a few months ago to shave my head as I could notice it a lot and was worried I’d be ‘that guy’ who thinks he still has hair lol.

I’ll go out on my own terms thanks. I have an epic beard so I look fine plus I wear a baseball cap 95% of the time so it’s not like anyone saw my hair often.

I’d like to see hairpieces become popular in general. I know they get made fun of but dudes wore them in the 1600s and it’d be awesome to change your colour and style to whatever you want. American black women use weaves (?) correct? I don’t see why other people can’t do the same thing.

Look too much of a maniac/hooligan when it's shaved. Seriously. People think I'm nuts. I imagine it's similar to if Christopher Walken was bald.

It's enough to just own up to your ugly appearance; there's no need to add extra detail by calling yourself "a maniac/hooligan".

So, which stage of grief would you say you are in here? I'd say the bargaining stage.

Was going to say the same thing, the style, the colouring/highlights, length are all awful yet he's gone with it.
You have to wonder, what goes through this guy's head when he sees himself in the mirror and says yea this looks good, I am ready to go out and face the world.

If you absolutely must wear a piece, can you not get something more subtle like Stallone?

My older brother went to Turkey 3.5 years ago to have it done and it looks great. Paid $4,000 for it there and it would’ve been $18,000 here. He made a two week trip out of it and spent the same amount.

Back in the 90s, my buddy paid about 50k over 4 years.  His rationale was that he basically worked a year for free so he could have hair.  Can't tell at all.

He said, I can be fat or bald, but can't be both, and this one is easier.  Then, he got all serious and looked me in the eye and said "but so help me if I knew bald with a goatee was going to be "in" in a few years, I could have saved fifty fucking grand".

Why do middle-aged men care about hair loss or gray hairs? I’m on my mid forties, have a receding hairline and balding crown, and I couldn’t care less. I will never buy transplants or dye my hair.

I do know a man who literally lost his damn mind after balding in his early twenties. That I can understand.

Agreed, I’ve been taking it for 7 years and am loving life. Tried minoxidil for a few weeks but it was too much hassle to apply and then if I would sweat it would run in my eyes and burn. No thanks, would much rather just pop a pill  ;D

I think I remember someone worked with my dad talking about getting like 800 plugs for $5,000 (or some shit like that) and it wasn’t ten percent of what he needed. Shit looked like a few strands up front.

Punch of pussies. Just shave and go. Hair transplants companies are rip off merchants who prey on men's vulnerabilities. The hair does not make the MAN.

The cock makes the man

I have a beautiful head of hair that I cut every two weeks. I put some Brylcreem in it and style it up. Maybe when I hit 70 I will lose some hair.

Yeah - the scarring would be a worry. I didn't know about the receptors being different @ the crowns. It started on the left crown at first and just expanded towards the right - but also forward. I first noticed it when it had been raining and I went into a shop - looked above at the CCTV monitor showing all the cameras including one right behind my head above - and there was a huge hole in my skull. I was like WTF is going on with my head? LMAO I didn't even buy anything just dropped the basket and drove straight home to look in the mirrror. LOL

Just out of interest - have you noticed any changes with your wife now you're shaven on top? I know they say I love you for who you are - but some people look dramatically different without hair vs with. I'm like you - I wear baseball caps a lot as I'm not really a suit person but when going to a restaurant/bar - it's kind of a given I don't wear it.

This is generally true, scars are mostly a feature of older transplant techniques.

FUE where they extract follicles individually from the back of the head with really small tools as opposed to cutting a whole strip of skin leaves very little scarring

Not everyone is like you, not giving a shit about how you look, just because you don’t doesn’t mean others don’t as well
