I’ve watched a RxMuscle video where Dave Palumbo interviewed Melvin Anthony. Melvin discussed his start in bodybuilding, and Melvin said that John Brown was a huge part of it. In that video, Melvin talked about being a teenager and hanging out with Brown at his house.

In another RxMuscle video, Vince Taylor also credits John Brown for guiding him in his early days. I think that they were training together.

I`ve met Shawn on three different occasions.....one in Orlando at Deke Warners show, and twice in Pittsburgh......contrary to most stories that I`ve heard, he was a really good dude......he let me take tons of pics of him eating.....yes I interrupted his meal at the buffet and he couldn`t have cared less........and he came backstage,pumped up with us (he was guest posing) regular joes and shot the shit with us for 45 minutes or so back there.

I gotta` dig up some pics and scan them..........84 Olympia,Danny Padilla in Rochester N.Y........Kovacs looking huge at the Southern States in a booth,Dwayne Broadway,Leon Brown,Franco Santoriello,Bob Chic,Bill Grant........etc. etc.

Regardless of Cutlers Olympias,Ray was a far better bodybuilder. who competed in a much tougher era.
