Yates was one of the first actual walking chemical experiments. Others pushed the envelope but he really did. Coleman did too and look at him now!  Both were so stupid that during pre contest training they still pushed maximal weights!! And look at what happened?  Common sense tells you that the body can NOT do that without enough food to REPAIR!.   The guys from Arnolds era and even in the early 80s didn't get all these injuries . They trained heavy off season and lighter faster and longer pre contest. It just makes sense! Their bodies showed it. They looked like real bodybuilders.   These ass clowns nowdays are just a bloated boofy mess but the schmoes and all these others think they look good because they are "huge"  . The only thing huge is their stomach. Are their arms or chest bigger than Arnolds?  NO.  Calves? no. Hell even before 75 arnolds thighs were huge too. But his gut was small. So these fucktards get on the scale and weigh 300 lbs but 75 of it is in the belly.

True... When depleted, and very dry, training very heavy is a braindead endeavor... Tears, ruptures, etc...

No offense, but Dorian is way more mobile and active than Ronnie The Cripple... Would rather do Yoga, than roll around in a wheel chair.
However, "HITTERS" are a delusional bunch. Ever go on Dardens HIT forum? Bunch of pompous, know it all training experts, with none having any muscle to speak of...

I know. They're everywhere. They make great claims yet ask one of them to provide evidence of their claims none come forward. If hit is so great why then, after 5 decades, has it never produced champion after champion? Why do the hitters make such bold claims yet can't back them up?

They are too busy talking about how great it is, so no time to actually put on any muscle... I had a well known one, at the AOBS strongman dinner, telling me I train all wrong.
(Arnold style split). The guy weighed 150 lbs... LOL

If you train with the highest HIT possible you only have to workout once a decade.

Yep. That's usually the case. The hit clowns telling everyone they're doing it wrong while they stay small and weak. The hit cult certainly are good for laughs.

So according to Methead you have to get stronger to get bigger ( he's wrong) He says a "strong muscle is a big muscle ( he's wrong) He would gauge his clients "progress" by if they added weight or reps to a exercise ( still wrong). One of His real reasoning for the long time in between workouts was because he said " ever notice that after a 2 week layoff you are always stronger in the gym then when you stopped".   So he said people had to be over training and after a  few weeks off they finally recuperated and "grew".  smh In reality  what happens is you are just burned out. Your mind is tired your nerves are tired you are just burned out.  So after a while of not working out your refreshed and ready to go again MENTALLY ( mostly)  So using his logic of getting stronger after a layoff then explain this. Even when your tired if you get pissed you lift more or add reps. Or a hot slut walks by you suddenly lift more do more reps etc. So did you "suddenly" recuperate?  lmao. Methead was wrong about EVERYTHING. And his diet advice was almost as bad as his workout advice.

Very true. Also after 2 weeks of not training deconditioning sets in. Infrequent training causes de-adaptation. In order for adaptation to occur, there must be stress. When the stress is too infrequent “de-adaptation” takes place.

Training a muscle group every seven or ten days you will be sore after every workout. When your training is infrequent, the downtime is too long, and the body starts reverting to its previous weaker state. When you train more often, the body has no time to lose its condition. That’s why you are less sore. In addition, frequent training improves the recovering capabilities of the organism.

Since Heavy Duty calls for infrequent training, you will be sore after each workout because of “de-adaptation” rather than “perfect training”.

Most people are not stronger after a 2 week layoff. They're actually weaker.

that's actually true muscles should be trained twice a week or even three times imo

my arms and delts recover very fast and can be hit again in 2 or 3 days
low volume high frequency is best

Yep, the soreness makes people think they are making gains.

And here we are, talking about his legacy 24/7, 40 years past.
