So according to Methead you have to get stronger to get bigger ( he's wrong) He says a "strong muscle is a big muscle ( he's wrong) He would gauge his clients "progress" by if they added weight or reps to a exercise ( still wrong). One of His real reasoning for the long time in between workouts was because he said " ever notice that after a 2 week layoff you are always stronger in the gym then when you stopped". So he said people had to be over training and after a few weeks off they finally recuperated and "grew". smh In reality what happens is you are just burned out. Your mind is tired your nerves are tired you are just burned out. So after a while of not working out your refreshed and ready to go again MENTALLY ( mostly) So using his logic of getting stronger after a layoff then explain this. Even when your tired if you get pissed you lift more or add reps. Or a hot slut walks by you suddenly lift more do more reps etc. So did you "suddenly" recuperate? lmao. Methead was wrong about EVERYTHING. And his diet advice was almost as bad as his workout advice.
Very true. Also after 2 weeks of not training deconditioning sets in. Infrequent training causes de-adaptation. In order for adaptation to occur, there must be stress. When the stress is too infrequent “de-adaptation” takes place.
Training a muscle group every seven or ten days you will be sore after every workout. When your training is infrequent, the downtime is too long, and the body starts reverting to its previous weaker state. When you train more often, the body has no time to lose its condition. That’s why you are less sore. In addition, frequent training improves the recovering capabilities of the organism.
Since Heavy Duty calls for infrequent training, you will be sore after each workout because of “de-adaptation” rather than “perfect training”.
Most people are not stronger after a 2 week layoff. They're actually weaker.
