‘Was there anything else you did differently with this routine?’ I asked eagerly.

‘Yes, I used this type of routine throughout my professional bodybuilding career, but the greatest gains I got from it was when, rather than following it on the usual four-out-of-seven-day schedule, I began spacing it so I trained every other day on a split routine.

‘For instance, rather than train Monday and Tuesday on a split routine, working half the body on Monday and the other half on Tuesday’I would do the first half of the body on Monday, skip Tuesday to recuperate and then train on Wednesday, rest on Thursday and repeat the cycle again, starting on Friday. That was the most result-producing routine that I ever used.’

Mentzer was a loser. His biggest accomplishment is losing a show and crying about it for the next 20 years. And finally dying due to his owm shitty decisions.  Further more he happily ripped off his own fan base by selling them on heavy duty routines that didn't work.

Figures royalty was a fan.

Listen. Arnold could have been 300 lbs but that is NOT what the judges or bodybuilding was about. It was an art. To achieve  perfect symmetry and proportion and look like an art sculpture. Now days people just want big freaks that look stupid.  They think its bodybuilding. They think bodybuilding means getting as big as possible no matter what. They say its "body- building"  build the body up huge no matter.  BUT that is not what it is supposed to be.  So remember Arnolds greatest gift was his mind. He would and could accomplish anything . If judges wanted them to look like they do now he would have and would have been the best just like he was back then. So comparing him to these blobs nowdays is not right. He could have  but was focused on true bodybuilding. Had Arnold lost in 1980 he would have been pissed and came back and beat everyone fore the next 5 years just to prove his point.  Mentzer lost and lost big time. Not even close. And what did he do? quit and cry and and lose at life and you idiots think he was a "goat"  He had a decent build when by himself but put him next to a real bodybuilder and he is exposed for what he was. A DECENT bodybuilder but no winner

That alternating A/B M W F routine was first introduced by the late Frank Calta, and it was called "Rotation for Recuperation"
