Alaska Air to buy Hawaiian Airlines for $1.9 billion

Alaska Air has agreed to acquire Hawaiian Airlines for $1.9 billion, which includes $900 million of Hawaiian Airlines net debt, the companies said on Sunday, in the latest example of consolidation among U.S. airlines.

I'm a frequent flyer with Alaskan.  It means I could use my frequent flyer miles to go anywhere Hawaiian goes as well - Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Guam, etc.  Also, significantly more flights to Hawaii.  If you live in Hawaii, or go to Hawaii, this could affect you.  Hawaiian Air will now be part of oneworld member alliance.

Also, to make it bodybuilding related, the Shaw Ray Classic is in Hawaii every year and Hawaiian Air has the most service to Hawaii.
