I think the news team should have contacted the general manager or the corporate office about this.   Confronting some 2.15 cent a hour workers working on tips about a health inspection is a waste of time as they obviously aren't smart enough to know about things like that judging by the looks of it.   Its also private property so they should have left when asked instead of continuing to engage them...especially people like that.   Restaurants are paying shit wages so you end up with shit workers.   Thats why I eat at home or go to places like Hall's Chophouse and other established places where I'm given the best service.   Besides that, having a burger at Denny's cost as much as a burger at Ruth Chris during Happy Hour and I can have a Manhattan and French Press coffee with it. 

They will get fired and end up at another place working if they haven't quit already.   Employers will always hire cheap labor no matter what their work record is.

Compare any blue inner city Denny's location to one in Iowa and see which one has more roaches and health violations. People aren't cleaning there, imagine how they handle the food.

That said It’s Denny’s . I get that Kwon pulled 2 random videos of the same chain failing health inspections and he’s curious why the employees are more invested in pushing the cameras out of the door than they are actually keeping their place of employment open…. But I’m willing to bet if the first people interviewed remained calm and dignified this would have encouraged everyone else to act in the same manner. Once group think sets in people behave accordingly.

They would have been fired even if they were polite.   Workers these days are expendable and the minute that news reporter came in, everyone was going to be fired from the employees to the general manager...which is what happenned along with the whole restaurant closed down.  This story was a few years ago.   The roach issue is obviously the store failing to having exterminators come in and spray weekly like a normal restaurant and the place had practically little to no staff.  The person who owned those restaurants was a cheapskate and a lot of them never got paid for work or was shorted

For a company like Denny's, its better to just fire everyone and blame them for the issues.   All companies do that....even Verizon.

I understand what you’re saying but I don’t agree 100%. Verizon can fire staff and survive. A non corporate owned restaurant fires the majority of their staff and they’re shutting the doors until they can find and train new employees.

The management team is gone but the rest of the staff would slowly be weeded out over time - especially with the quality of employees available to the hospitality industry post covid.

Well. obviously, not all Denny's in America are like that, maybe a tiny fraction are.  Most are quiet, good for late night food, and over the years, never really had any issues like that.  Violations - a lot of places have that.  They have to post it up, or close down until they get the violations fixed.

Now, the news crew.  News crew do NOT have a right to enter private property without permission, and when told by the manager or the one in charge that day to get out, they need to get out.  They can't keep interrogating nor filming in there.  So if they refuse, you call the police and get them out.  News crew can't complain as they are now trespassing on private property.
