Looks like Chronic Venous Insufficiency, a condition in which blood has difficulty returning to your heart.  The blood pools in your veins, straining their vessel walls, and it looks like one or more of your veins reached their limit.

Risk factors include heavy body weight (typically associated with obesity but even lean, muscular weight will multiply the pressure in your legs) and prolonged standing—which is likely why it happened at the end of a 14hr shift.  All that fluid collects in your feet and legs, building pressure until the weak part of your vessels sprung a leak.

If you notice your feet beginning to feel numb/pins and needles/tingling/cold, seek medical care immediately.  This could be a sign of impaired circulation to your feet and could lead to amputation if left untreated.  Also, if you experience sudden chest pain, shortness of breath, spitting up blood, coughing fits, seek medical care immediately - these could be signs of a blood clot having lodged itself your lungs.  The risk of either of these happening is small, but you should still be aware.

In the meantime, spend as much time as possible with your feet elevated to help the blood drain to your heart.  Stay off your feet as much as possible.  I dont know if it’s possible to take time off work but I dont think it’s a good idea to go back before seeing the vascular surgeon.  If you do have to go back, try to keep it to shorter shifts .. 4-6 hours tops.  Not always possible since we all have bills to pay but do the best you can.

Trying to sleep it off, going to work next day does speak to an insane work ethic/sense of duty, or perhaps fear, fear of losing you job etc.
In any case, I wouldn't have gone anywhere, I would have called an ambulance even if they insisted I take myself to hospital, like they sometimes do, I would have made something up. I'm like, I paid taxes all my life, now you pay me back! Lol.

Often in healthcare "they" talk about the need of "demanding" help to actually get help. Some people like myself aren't good at that so often don't get help. And if rich maybe having a lawyer with you to the hospital would be a good idea, I'm not sure, but I think a lot of people die out of pure negligence and not giving a fuck, other priorities.
