Offer him a foot rub to help his blood flow 

Mike if you're going to work and not the hospital because you want to carry on with your life and pass this off as nothing too serious then just stop. Go to the hospital ASAP

At the very least call the vascular surgeons office and ask if they can see you sooner. Make your situation sound worse than it is. Tell them it's bleeding on and off most evenings.

Also if possible don't go to work until all this is sorted. At the very least tell work you can't be on your feet day until it gets sorted. Don't try and be a hero.
