Colombia is one of those places where you don't go unless you've got contacts with good connections or business interests there. Beautiful country with such great scenery and kind, welcoming people. But it takes one little gang of evil criminals desperate for money and your life is over. This chap was set up by a woman. G-Thang is up to date with all this stuff. Western men need to wise up. Went there in July. Bogotá, Medellin, Cartegena, Not a sign of danger. Used the same cautions as I would in New York, Chicago, etc. Travel all over Mexico. It's really all about using common sense. And yes, this is tragic, but guess what... there dangers in many parts of the US. Should I stop traveling because of this? No way

Been to Colombia 13 times. It is one of the safest places I've ever been to, with some of the most polite people on the planet.
But if you are stupid, bad things will happen to you anywhere. Most of my life i've traveled to shitholes because I was in the military and then as a contractor. Trust me, America is one of the most dangerous places in the world........ Nigs
