If that's true, they're screwed. I've only tried a few flavors but they were pretty underwhelming. A saturated market with a lot of better products is bad news for them.
Peach Rings and Miami Vice flavor won’t get them to the promised land anytime soon. Ghost’s AI generated flavor technology blows them out of the water
Yeah, it was sorta sad. The press releases were a bunch of "We had to lay off xxx, and cancel sponsorships of this one and that one, but we did hire this guy from Bang Energy!". I checked out the reviews of the drinks in a number of different places, and they were very ho-hum. No one is blown out of the water by them.
They have managed to get some shelf space in certain Walgreens, Walmarts, etc.... for their products, so that's some decent news for them.
That being said, the social interaction between the company and buyers has been awful for a while. Low energy, and unhappy. Their biggest athlete is Dana (DLB), and the ads are like this now -
https://www.instagram.com/redcon1/reel/CzKImAcR2F-/ , sort of a half hearted attempt to turn it into a lifestyle brand.
They also were trying a big push to to become a brand favored by the military. That seems lukewarm as well. One of the funnier interactions I saw, was a fitness girl and vet pushing RedCon drinks as a way to stay alert during the ACFT and other fitness tests. Half the thread were people going "yeah! I love energy drinks, Monster's the ticket." or something close.
Are Bang energy drinks still a thing?
They still do well based on name, Monster bought them during their bankruptcy sale. The brand was strong, they couldn't survive fighting with Monster Energy though. But there is competition - Ghost, C4, etc.... Monster and its associated brands are still the king of energy drinks in terms of sales. They sorta have a Budweiser thing happening, they own so much of the market that even if you don't like them, you might still find yourself buying a sister product.
They will also absolutely destroy you in court if they can -
