Home Alone 2 was filmed at a venue that was owned by Trump. He definitely deserves some credit. His scene with Kevin Mcallister was great.

The title was Home Alone 2 Lost in New York so they needed to hace icons of the city for it to be successful. Donald Trump if anything is an icon...when people think of New York, he comes to mind
