Ali: He just fought too long. Also he lost almost 4 of his best years when he was banned.
Frazier: He was Tyson before Tyson. The fights he had with Ali ruined him. He beat a prime of his life Ali.
Norton: Him and Frazier are probably responsible for Ali's brain damage.
Foreman: Just a wrecking machine. In his lost to Ali he looked almost drugged and slow. Just a really bad day for him.
Marciano: He was a light heavy and Cruiser weight but fought heavyweights. Every time a white man bring up boxing he pulls Rocky Marciano out of his ass.
Hearns: His power was unreal. One of the hardest punchers of all time.
Duran: He was just a mean vicious prick. His undoing was the partying life style and the rumors of drugs.
Hagler: Grew up in the mean streets of Newark, NJ. I still say he is undefeated. Fuck Leonard and his running against him.
Leonard: Got to give him respect for all the wins he had.
Holmes: Never ducked anyone. He is never ranked highly because he made it look easy. Always fought the best available. Learned how to fight from being Ali's sparring partner.
Archie Moore: Maybe the most knockouts in history. Fought during a time where he would fight sometimes once or twice a month trying to make a pay check.
Sugar Ray Robinson: Speed and skill. Say no more.
So many more. If I would be completely non biased I would have to list the old time fighters that fought professionally once a month and sometimes more. This new model of fighting once or twice a year is bs. I also hate fighters that run and throw taps in bunches trying to win on points. That would be fighters like Mayweather, Sweet pea and Camacho. You could throw in Leonard in his fight against Hagler.
Controversial addition is Chuck Wepner. He fought the best and lost to the best. He was always picked for an easy win for a top dog and they regretted it. He worked a 40 plus hour week and trained for boxing part time. He was all heart. The only time he trained without working was the Ali fight. He's the real Rocky of the bunch. He was huge. Standing near him in a store after he was long retired impressed me with his size. Hard to believe he is 84.
Honorable mention is Jerry Quarry. Like Chuck he always fought the best and went all out. If he didn't live through a super stars list of hall of famers heavy weights he would have had the title. In the end his mind was scrabbled from all the wars he was in and it was a sad end.
Another honorable mention is Arturo Gatti. He wasn't the best boxer or athlete. The reason why he is on this list was because he was all heart. Wes should learn from him. Never date and marry a go go dancer. I still say she lured him to South America to have him killed. Now she is living the life there with his millions.
