You build the best cardio for snowboarding, spearfishing and mountain biking, Not for fighting. You're not making the correlation for conditioning which is one of the reasons why I brought up getting a rotation to test yourself. It's skill plus conditioning. If you have a 3 round fight you train for 5. If you have a 5 round (title fight) you train for 8. yesterday we were talking about pro fights and fighters not you're talking about calling out getbiggers for a street fight.

I said yesterday you might do well in a street fight that might last 10-20 seconds but not in a ring. Which is it?

Stop trying to use logic and common sense with him.  He's delusional and a wanna-be tough guy.  How many times have you seen his kind walk into a gym and say they can kick everyone's ass?

Brian, you're not Belfort. Just because Belfort beat Holyfield doesn't mean the average person can stand with Holyfield

I wouldnt try to stand and trade though I would turn it into a grappling match Holyfields legs are gone easy pickings

Haven't had any boxers. But that wouldn't make sense to me if we're talking about the same zone training. I'm assuming you're referring to HR.

Zone 1 is base work basically long slow distance it's well under aerobic/anaerobic threshold Zone 2 is threshold Zone 3 is above threshold

world class cyclists runners XX skiers etc train 80% I'm base easy volume training

Oh I understand Zones, this just wouldn't make sense to me, off the top of my head from a training prospective.

Your training is basically for strength and power right? That's much different than aerobic training

I call this Jake Paul syndrome.

He looked completely shot no balance, no stability, no speed, no coordination, no resilience, no movement, nothing like he should not have been cleared to fight surely you saw that yes? That was not the Holyfield that we know and love. That was an old man with real neurological damage.

It's everything. Including nutrition. Training time with my fighters is usually 5 days per week. Conditioning is very specific with a combining areobic/anareobic. Basically energy systems

I've heard fighters do more interval- and circuit training-type cardio these days and not as much traditional long/slow "road work" as in the past.

Rowing seems like it would be good cardio option for fighters to me.  Easy on the shoulders/punching muscles, aerobic since it's a long effort but each individual pull is high intensity, kind of like fighting.

Obviously if I were to actually be offered a serious fight, I would do a camp focused on it. Now given that is not actually going to be offered to me I don't need to be doing fight specific cardio training to defend myself against the average slob in the street.

Pretty much did lots of CrossShit style training with my coach and did some medicine ball throws for punching power under my own accord

What about walking your dog as prep cardio?

Carry on.

Absolutely correct in the boxing ring in a boxing match. Not in a cage in a cage fight. It is absolutely not the same thing.
Brian,Mike Tyson grew up on the streets of Brooklyn as a criminal......do you honestly think he has never had a street fight and hit the concrete and still kicked ass?

Rhetorical question.....no need to answer.....keep on believing in your dream/fantasy.

Hankins gasses or shits himself at 20 yards

Matt C's 20 year old walmart shoes fall apart before the end.

Iron Mike wins.

Hankins claims the refs screwed him and he really won.

I had the issue for a month prior you dumb fuck that is why I was on prescribed Percocet's. I can't believe I have to justify getting sick. I also work from home. I felt like shit I pushed it as far as I could. I should have backed out a month prior but had committed.

You got prescribed Percocets for dehydration and organ failure?

I’m going with the 6-foot German chick in that one.

By a large margin.
