War on Meat: Sign a Waiver to eat a Burguer.
« on: January 24, 2024, 08:31:18 AM »
"I ordered my burger medium and the waiter took it with no question or comment. She brought it and it looked great! But when I had my first bite, she brought me a release form," the patron, who is from the U.S., wrote on Reddit this week.

Burgers should be cooked through if they are made by hand in the kitchen

Taking a handful of meat that has been exposed to the air and then moulded to push the outside inside if that makes sense and not cooking it through can cause food poisoning

You can eat steak blue, the slight searing kills any germs on the outside of the meat , the inside isnt exposed at all.

What would this restaurant do if they served a forever/perpetual stew like the olden days, sign the waiver before eating?

I knew a guy who used to eat raw ground beef.

My buddy’s father is the president of the German club and they eat raw hamburger all the time. I’ve watched them eat it and it’s looks disgusting.

I love that stuff. I used to eat it at least once a week. It's mostly a Lebanese dish. I absolutely loved it, one of my favorite meals.

There are no restaurants that currently serve it where I live now. Occasionally I find a place that does a good steak tartar. Which is also one of my favorites.

I've never eaten raw ground beef. It seems a bit risky. I used to do the Rocky raw eggs but that too seems risky now. Back then I didn't think twice about it. When I drank heavy I always did a raw egg in tomato juice with worcestershire sauce.

this is not war on meat
it is , if the story is accurate, a failed attempt at limiting insurance liability arising from the sale of undercooked food

the release form is the business acknowledging there is a health risk
presenting the release form after the customer has consumed some of undercooked foot is an admission of liability in the event of the customer having health problems occasioned by consuming the undercooked food

100% correct. The lawyers would be all over that restaurant if a patron got food poisoning from undercooked ground beef.

Youre right, he does have some Lebanon blood. I like the Arabic-food version of Kibby (Kibbeh) cooked lamb.
I do the raw eggs still, when no time for cooking (like a meeting coming up) I'll just chug 3 of em...

Most menus Ive seen for the last 15 or 20 years have a disclaimer about consuming raw or undercooked meat.

Ive never seen a waiver... unless someone wants to fight. Then I'm good to go. Had my lawyers proof read it too. If some waiter came at me with a waiver I'd produce my own and once his names on the dotted line the only raw meat will be his fucking face.

I have been eating raw meat(including poultry) for over 4 years now and never had a bad "batch".
When the meat is older it is soothing for the nerves similar to sour cream.

Steak tartare is pretty popular. If you have fresh quality steaks ground up it's safe. If you eat typical hamburger meat raw you will get sick. It isn't fresh enough.
