The wolves that didn't are dead.

Some wolves don't get cancer just like some humans.

Some researchers believe cancer is a metabolic disease, not genetic.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20181022/

Emerging evidence indicates that impaired cellular energy metabolism is the defining characteristic of nearly all cancers regardless of cellular or tissue origin. In contrast to normal cells, which derive most of their usable energy from oxidative phosphorylation, most cancer cells become heavily dependent on substrate level phosphorylation to meet energy demands. Evidence is reviewed supporting a general hypothesis that genomic instability and essentially all hallmarks of cancer, including aerobic glycolysis (Warburg effect), can be linked to impaired mitochondrial function and energy metabolism. A view of cancer as primarily a metabolic disease will impact approaches to cancer management and prevention.

Natural selection at its finest. The cancer prone wolves probably died before having the chance to breed.

Cancer is over-production of cells.

I know, cells are constantly reproducing, it just eventually fucks the process up and they start over/mass producing at a unsustainable rate

No doubt money and power are involved in keeping terminal patients alive but there is no cure for cancer or those at the top would never die from it.

Reminds me of the (possibly apocryphal) story of the Mexican super-rats.  Someone told me the government gave people lots of cats and put lost of poison down.  So the few rats left were too big to be taken down by cats, and immune to the poison.  Then they bred...

Reminds me of the giant pigs here in the Deep South.

I saw a blurb today about how Putin says they developed a vaccine that can stop cancer. Wonder if these wolves have anything to do with it? ???

Yep. Or the tiny pigs from those remote (Indonesia?) islands. Due to the scarcity of food, only the smaller ones survived and breed.

Most have been proven to be domesticated wild hogs that are released and then killed. They can tell by how worn down their teeth are from eating farm food. It takes too much time to forage for that much food in the wild to get that big.

That sounds reasonable (although the term 'domesticated wild hogs' seems a touch paradoxical maybe?) - but I just want to know if they taste good  :P  I've always enjoyed watching legit US BBQ Pit style videos so the idea of a portion of one of these being smoked sounds delicious

Yeah, they raise them secretly and then claim a state or world record when they "hunt" them. I'm sure they taste delicious. :P
