My daughter would introduce a possible date to me and would later inform me that the meeting went well.  I once asked a young man what he had in common with the actor Christopher Reeve and he said, "Nothing. He's paralyzed!"  and I told him he really needed to keep that in mind.

I suspect you easily garner the same respect from your nieces' possible dates.   Now I am not the same man physically but still just as protective if needed.

As for the thread subject matter, I've always preferred a few years older than myself - nowadays that takes me into GILF territory!

Each to their own for course is the rule - I just wonder if some people occasionally choose someone much younger because they are easier to impress - or - to impress others looking at the couple - so subconsciously the choice is for an ego-boost

Actually that's so fucking obvious I'm embarrassed I wrote it!
