They didn't have this procedure back then the previous Doctors told me there was nothing they could do. If you don't care don't click on this thread and respond real simple solution. I found this guy this year I waited until after I won the Cup to go check him out.

Yeah possibly but that can also be easily the best option if you're getting done on the fixed track of a machine or the partial fixed trap of the bar.  I speak from only my own experience here.

I think most people who struggle with dbs have never dropped the ego to full lift down to chest.  I'm just lucky that I started like that because I feel sorry for all the poor fools who are petrified about putting the db on their chest and never getting it back up.  That's how you get done by dbs.  If you have full power at the bottom, it never feels risky.  Or maybe I was just built for it.

Right now, for the last 6 months I've been getting absolutely smashed with shoulder inflammation on pretty much anything chesty/shoulder but DBs are the one thing I can sort of do to the max and get away with.. mostly because of the freedom of  movement.  I've gone from dipping with up to 80-90kg on me to being mortally afraid of even doing bodyweight (relax, I'm not doing 12 at 80/90kg).  The shoulders recover but they absolutely are almost inoperable for a few days.

Anybody else with experience of this, feel free to weigh in, I haven't yet accepted defeat and let them rest for more than 2 weeks.  I'm thinking I might need to give them a solid time.  Little worried that my days of being teflon bencher are behind me  >:(

Benching with a machine is gay, I,ll take the risk touch wood.
End of the day it´s just about results & if you get them with a bar,machine , Dumbbells  who cares.
Infact i have always preferred Parallel Bar dips to Benching.
I liked supersetting Dips with plain old push ups

Interesting but maybe you can post some examples of what you do. Not saying you are wrong as i actually warm up with some escrima stick exercises which i feel is good for mobility & flexibility which is basically the same thing.

infact most people have trouble with these hand movements, i see it often.
I was using bands today which attach to a door anchor & i think using them with free weights helps. Machines i like too in the Gym for pecs. Nothing Pussy about it.

Never heard of those stick exercises.

The "Lock big 3" is one to start with (and I guarantee there will be those trying to use heavier weights than necessary because they don't want to look like a pussy with the proper weights)

escrima nothing to do with bodybuilding but very effective for shoulder,forearms,hands. Upper body mainly but also footwork.
coordination. I specialise in one stick but with two it´s obviously harder but concentration in my opinion is wasted.
no one will walk around with two sticks but one telescopic baton ..yes.
But back to the subject i believe you are correct Krank  :)

So what about just rotating the arms windmill style and doing some stretching and possibly light weight shoulder work before chest nto sure difference between mobility warming up and stretching I mean all seem kind of same concept get some blood into the shoulder first and open up the joint with some movement before heavy pressing.

My left shoulder is holding me back it is not stable if I don't warm it up. I do plan to do some specific work on it this year. I paln to get a functional trainer for one thing this summer and use the cables to do some shoulder work

I think cable front and side raises are more effective than dumbells as they start the tension on the delt earlier in the movement and it is more consistent throughout the movement

I used to do 3 sets of front side and rear dumbbell raises and shoulder presses on shoulder day. My shoulders were my standout body part. Then after 3 shoulder surgeries I stopped shoulder day. I think I need to build the left back up with a shoulder day again going forward.

Nost people get way shorter eange with dumbells vs the bar. I mean the weights get in the way so you CAN'T drop your hands even as low as a regular bar. You'd have to use a "parallel grip" and even then, no. Most say they do dumbells to get more range. BS.

I do some dynamic stretches (rotations) and then a few progressive warmup sets.

The connective tissues strengthen much more slowly than the muscles so people get hurt when they go too heavy too soon.

Connective tissue injuries are the most common injuries.

How to toughen connective tissue?

Not complicated.  Just weight train.  Over time the tissues toughen.  Takes a few months at least so don't go too heavy.

That's about it.

If you use steroids train light or with moderate poundages because with drugs your muscle strength will even more quickly outpace your connective tissue strength and then you get bicep and pec tears. 

This is what happened to you most likely and why there is a now a lot of these injuries happening.

Against my better judgement on this.....

1) Just doing 'spiny circles' is not bad but stretching is something that has been shown to be way more effective after a workout than before.

2) light weight shoulder work is just that....the same things you are doing in your workout.  Taking your shoulder through its full range of motion (i.e. like a prone swimmer) will warm the rotator cuff up more than a very light shoulder press.

3) Of course a shoulder will not be stable if it doesn't get warmed up.  Thing is the proper warm up should be done.  When someone is in their 20's their shoulders are more often than not healthy...tissue is still super pliable.  Then with improper mechanics and repetitive loads the tissue starts to wear down and the "I will just push through it" mentality" comes in. 

Not even going to address the last two paragraphs.....too much bro science.
