Mike only looks more developed in these pictures because Arnold is towering over the gaint manlet mentzer. Casting the perfect shadows for stage lighting. Standing in Arnolds shadow helped mentzer look a little bit better. Still not good enough to win but it's just one more example of how Arnold "helped" mike for the contest.

You know, I always thought it was a really close show. Even, obviously,  very controversial.  And because all bodybuilding shows are subjectively scored. I could see how any of the top 8 could've won.  .

But the more pictures are posted of this particular contest the more obvious it becomes that Arnold was the clear winner. It's actually funny the mentzer cult thinks he won. He looks like a child next to Arnold.

I still think arnold would have been a specimen to witness in 1980 without comparing to his previous showings.
There's some great shots on that cliff in Sydney, he really was defined,  lean and dry with more vascularity I think.
It's hard to believe arnolds bodyweight really, there's no other bodybuilder so huge and complete with his height.
