“False reporting accounts for as little as 2% of all child sexual abuse reports. This means 98% of child sexual abuse reports are true or have significant validity to them.”

Per Child Advocacy Centers, kids and teens almost never lie about abuse. Do some lie? Of course but the majority of abuse reports have validity to them.

With that said, I would almost always believe a disclosure of abuse by a child.

Its more likely that Ashley is in the 98%, not the 2%, based on probability alone.

This was ten years after she got her Master's degree. She was supposedly once arrested for illegal possession of marijuana, but not charged. Ashley says she was storing some items including her diary at the DeRay beach house in Florida. This is different than her forgetting or abandoning these items as Hunter did his laptop.

According to an Associated Press report covering Harris' prosecution, Ashley Biden was moving out of a friend's home in Delray Beach, Florida, in Spring 2020 when she stored the diary and other belongings at the property. Prosecutors said Biden had believed the items had been stored safely.

However, if the article in the Daily Mail (a rightwing online rag) is true, she must have previously had a drug or alcohol problem, otherwise why would she have been in rehab and subsequently living in this halfway house?

You are absolutely correct. From my perspective, legally and technically speaking Aimee and her cohort did not steal the diary and whatever else Ashley left behind when she moved out. According to various articles in the media Ashley was storing those items at the Del Ray (halfway house). Having never personally been in a halfway house, I do not know this for certain, but this doesn't seem like the most secure place to 'store' one's private possessions. It was not ethical for Aimee Harris and her coconspirator Robert Kurlander to sell Ashley's stuff, especially not something as personal as a diary. They likely did this to make money and not necessarily because of their political stances. My guess is that Aimee Harris needed the money. According to what I read, she has history that includes being abused and she has two children.

So again, you are also right that there is a lot of dysfunction going on in this situation, but also on a grander scale. The current U.S. political scene is loaded with dysfunction, perhaps more so than in times past... at least for as long as I can remember. Government and the elected leaders are supposed to serve their constituency. What I see is politicians being more interested in making a name for themselves as opposed to getting legislation passed. The for profit Media makes its money by catering to their audiences and to heck with the truth. And just to be clear, this applies to all media, not just left or right biased.

Is it possible that many of today's politicians are ill equipped to do their jobs whether it is due to lack of knowledge, physical and mental health, including being too geriatric, because anyone worth their salt realizes the sacrifice is too much and simply not worth putting themselves and their families through?
