Protein powder
« on: May 16, 2024, 05:57:51 AM »
Hey guys. I haven't had protein powder in over 15 years. There's so much out there that it can be overwhelming. I'm just looking for a very high-quality, good tasting powder I can use as meal replacement.  Low to no carbs, low-sugar.

What's out there in 2024?

Protein is a good option for a meal replacement, who doesn't like a good milkshake?
However, the shit has gone overboard on price.
There are deals out there though if not picky. I don't care if I get some sugar, or preservatives.
Some are health freaks and don't want that stuff... I just go for what I find on sale and cheapest.
Is just a matter of principle, I dont like over-paying for that stuff...

I just got 2 lbs of this stuff for $17.00. Again, Im not picky or a health nut, so sugar substitutes dont bother me for one drink a day.

I've stopped using whey because it messes up my stomach and I think gives a feeling of allergy as well, especially in eyes.

Only realised how bad it was making me feel after I stopped and noticed the difference.

Might consider vegan protein instead.

Using cheap whey powders will do that. I have zero stomach issues with Isopure.

For me, I think it's because it's made from milk.

I can't have regular milk without issues.

I'm lactose intolerant, like most adults, and I have zero issues with Isopure.

Forget all the powders. I've tried too many including isopure.  Go to Costco or BJ's and get Fairlife pre made protein bottles. 30 grams of protein of amazing tasting protein. Made by the company that makes lactose free milk products. Seriously there is no comparison to any fart powder. So many of these fart powders are sourced from the same middle man then they claim theirs is better than the competitor when it's the same crap.

I'm severely lactose intolerant. Protein powders aren't regulated and so I judged if they had lactose by the stomach upset I get. I think some lie about being lactose free.  Fairlife protein has zero point zero stomach upset. It truly tastes like a gourmet milkshake. It's criminal that protein powders all claim to taste great when they taste like licking dead worms in your back yard and I won't mention the mixing problems if you don't use a blender.

Don't buy Fairlife off Amazon or another place because the prices are off the charts. The stuff is getting so popular that more than once I see gym owners and others going to BJ's to buy pallets of the stuff to sell at rip off prices in their gyms for a single bottle or putting it online at rip off prices.

The ON whey is the best.

Better to eat animal protein though.

Kwon I've used the Star and Fairings a lot too but in recent years it seems like I can't tolerate any protein shakes. Vomit inducing immediately and then feeling slightly sick for 12 hours. One 50 gram shake and an hour later I have to drink a liter of water, I get very thirsty.

I mix these together and drink just to satisfy a sweet tooth while getting some quality dietary protein:

I mix them using a shaker bottle like this one:
