You can carry a knife (limit 5" blade) but you can't carry a cane with a knife in it.

It´s absurd because how deep do you need to stab someone to open an artery ?
also 1" can kill in the right place

Amazing how people continue to not abide by the initial question's parameters:

No weapons allowed (no canes, sticks, guns, edged weapons, etc.)
The person defending is not physically strong and/or is quite old.

Krav Maga is good but from the videos I've seen it involves many complicated techniques that would require a lot of practice to master.  Striking of course.  Scripted counters to attacks.  A power based system like modern karate.
Not the best for a weak person.
