I will be watching it in a theater when I get a chance. Apparently its pretty good. Fury Road is the kind of movie I can watch over and over and yet its box office numbers pale in comparison to some other hits that I have no desire to watch again. The Avengers for example.

This is exactly right, and it's not just on this topic.  There are many topics like this where the mix of characters is so out of whack it make no sense compared to reality and it takes away from the narrative value of the show/movie. 

What gets me is that there seem to be many people who seem not to have to suspend disbelief and just accept it as whatever is spoonfed to them, like a spoonful of crockpot for Hankins.
