also i always read that Gironda didn´t approve of a thicker waist but believed in say his "Frog sit ups"
Indeed he always talked of a V-Taper but of course only Steve reeves really got what i would call a max Taper...but Gironda did develop great lats for his frame even if he did some weird stuff like "Racing Dive" pull ins.
On the abs i never agreed with his no sit ups policy either as i remember a guy i knew just did old school incline slant board sit ups, twisting (was in ´87) in the British army & we only had 1 universal machine)
he had outstanding abs & our diet wasn´t great either as we were on an operational tour so had to eat the food given.
Genetics determin your physique in most cases not exercises.
