The story of richard sorin buying the zuver plates= One of the worlds largest Vintage Iron Collector’s and very close friend just passed away.
I’ve met many of the most knowledgeable Collectors in the world and Richard was in my opinion the biggest collectors of them all.
He was Mine as well as many go to guy when a question needed to be answered. His collection is amazing and he loved sharing it and telling its History.
Many years ago he contacted me trying to get me to sell him some of my The Zuver’s Hall of Fame Muscle Plates to his super large Museum Sized Collection. I turned him down for nearly three years of him texting me almost every day.
After chatting over and over for so long I got to know him closely.
I finally told him if he wanted a set of my personal plated he needed to get on a flight to San Diego and spend a week with me learning all about Zuver’s History.
To my surprise he was here a week later. We’ve been super friends ever since. We spent days and nights getting to know each other. I took him sightseeing and out to great dinners.
He won me over and guess what?
We made a deal for not one set of the big boy plates but he went home with a set of each 150s and 200s. 😁
Richard told me he always wanted and regretted never meeting my dad.
Well they are together tonight.
Wish I was there to eavesdrop on the conversation. ❤️😁
You could never meet someone as passionate about the Iron Game as he. He lived it, breathed it, and Dreamed It.
He was The Best and is missed by everyone he touched with his kindness and knowledge.
I will miss him deeply.
God Bless his Son Bert Sorin and all of his family.
My Condolences Bert.
My ❤️ Goes Out You and your Family.
Love You Guys.
RIP My Friend.
