Even now I think he's in pretty good shape.  John Hansen interviewed him fairly recently and he said he was still in good shape. He was wearing a sweater so I couldn't tell but that's what he said.

Thats good genetics.  Alternating years of crack use with years of steroid abuse worked out well for him.

In the years I trained, worked, loitered and trespassed at Golds Gym Venice… nobody and when I say nobody, that includes everybody… nobody gained muscle and lost fat faster than Mike Christian. I swear to god, he would be on a six month bender (coke, crack, meth, booze) get off the narcotics, get in the gym, eat decently and train 6 days per week…

…six weeks later (yes, approximately 40 days) he would change from a skinny fat 185 to a tight, vascular, glycogen filled 230 pounds. Absolutely crazy.

Single best responder I ever saw.

Mike mentzer trained in the mid 80s with a young guy named Larry Pollack and he said mentzer morphed very quickly

Did you happen to witness this?

I'd guess it was in 85 or 86
