You so much its absolutely brutal. No one remembers gas going from 2.00 to 5.00?? (This part of country).
(OF course things came down, still not close by a long shot).
Eggs .89 cents to 4.99?? Groceries, etc... Everything was much cheaper under Trump, which means more money in Americans pockets.
Its not that your a Dem that makes you a bad person, its your caulk-sucking and brutal hypocrite lies...
Where did I lie? How is what I posted hypocritical? The post you are responding to only relates to me and my experience with the economy. I was absolutely clear about this. In no way did I suggest inflation has had no effect on other folks. But, as of the present, it has had no noticeable negative effect on me or my personal finances.
I do not disagree that gas and grocery prices increased. Here is the actual effect these two areas of expense have had on my finances. From August 2016 to August 2020, I spent $2,145 on gasoline. From August 2020 - August 2024 I spent $1,032 on gasoline (note: I also drove few miles). From August 2016 to August 2020, I spent $18,629 on groceries. From August 2020 to August 2024, I spent $20,682 on groceries. An addition of $2,053 on groceries. That is approximately $500 a year. Keep in mind that COVID hit in 2020, and restaurants were closed for quite a while, so this would account for my buying more groceries.
Over the past eight years the real estate market has soared despite the increase in interest rates. Interestingly enough my mortgage expense decreased almost $18,000 in the past 4 years, which is due to refinancing the mortgage when interest rates bottomed out in 2020 at 2.25%.
Since most people look at their expenses more often than once every four years, I thought it would be interesting to show the immediate impact of inflation on my finances. In the past two weeks, I drove a total of 27 miles. My car gets approximately 27 mph., presently, regular gas at my local Chevron station is $3.99 a gallon. Last week, I spent $75 on groceries, this is with no effort to economize because of inflation. I bought foods I liked to eat in 2016 just as I do today.
BTW, I noticed you did not post on Getbig for a couple of months. It is good to see that you are back now.
