nother Clue Kamala Is An Authoritarian: She’s Still Forcing Covid Shots On Staff
The Federalist ^ | 08/21/2024 | Auguste Meyrat
Posted on 8/21/2024, 12:34:09 PM by SeekAndFind

This is Kamala Harris’ ‘joyful’ vision for the future, and Americans can expect a sequel to 2020 if she’s elected this November.
The biggest clue that Kamala Harris would be an authoritarian president is the senseless Covid shot mandate she’s forcing on her staff.

One of the worst abuses of power in the general response to Covid-19 was forcing Americans to take the mRNA shot. Nearly every major employer, including the federal government, required that employees take an untested drug to “vaccinate” them from a virus that the majority had already had. Worse still, the shot did not prevent people from contracting or transmitting Covid. It did, however, result in a number of side effects that often ended up worse than the disease itself.

Eventually, after some pushback in the courts, the Biden administration and most organizations dropped the mandates. But, against all logic, the Harris-Walz presidential campaign is bringing it back.

As The Daily Wire recently reported, the official Harris for President job listings state, “Harris for President requires all employees to be ‘up to date’ on COVID-19 vaccination status as prescribed by the CDC as a condition of employment, unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law.” It’s not enough to have taken the Pfizer shot three years ago. Prospective employees will need to have a recent booster shot as well.

There are a number of possible reasons why the Harris for President campaign would be doing this, and none of them are good.

The first and most natural reason is that Kamala Harris and the Democrats still see Covid as a serious concern. Indeed, even after four years and so many myths about the virus being exposed outright (e.g. the scientific basis of social distancing, the efficacy of lockdowns and masks, and the origin of the virus), many on the left can be seen testing themselves for Covid, wearing N95 masks, taking the mRNA booster shot every season, and trusting discredited experts.

It should go without saying that this thinking betrays a dangerous ignorance that deserves scorn, not validation. People who are still afraid of Covid need to be educated and pitied, not rewarded with power and influence.

If a presidential candidate and her staff actually believe in the effectiveness of Covid booster shots despite evidence to the contrary, then Americans should reject her on this basis alone. After all, it’s just as dangerous to have a superstitious and stupid person in charge as it is to have a corrupt and conniving one — although Harris might just be all of these things.

The second reason for requiring a booster shot is that Kamala Harris and her team believe in the power of mandates and hope to bring them back. They probably know that taking the mRNA shot does little to improve public health but is an effective political tool to gain power and crush opposition. If Harris wants to purge her administration of dissenters, as her decrepit boss Joe Biden did, she can force them to take the shot and fire anyone who doesn’t comply.

One could object that the U.S. Supreme Court blocked this policy, which is why the Biden administration finally dropped the mandate. This probably explains why Harris is implementing a mandate beforehand, while it’s still legally permissible. Of course, if she enters office with a large staff of like-minded bureaucrats who believe in Covid shot mandates, this team could work to impose another mandate on federal employees and government contractors and fix the courts (including the Supreme Court) so she isn’t challenged.

The third possible reason the Harris campaign is requiring the shot is much more fundamental: Getting it is simply part of being a leftist today. Just like gang members have elaborate tattoos to show they are with a certain gang, true leftists have records of taking the shot, along with dorky social media posts celebrating this fact. In most cases, the actual health benefits are secondary. The real purpose is to signal to the rest of the tribe that they are not some weird, dangerous anti-vaxxer (i.e., an independent thinker).

In all likelihood, the Harris campaign’s effort to bring back the mandate is a combination of all three of these reasons. It assures that only loyalists join the campaign, it lays the groundwork for wider mandates in the future, and it maintains a culture of ignorance that makes Democrats easy to manipulate and mobilize.

On a deeper, more disturbing level, there also seems to be a genuine feeling of nostalgia for Covid-19. This may shock conservatives and independents who want to forget all about that time, but for many on the left, it wasn’t so bad. They had extended time off from work and school and received “free” money from the government.

Even better, they could easily cancel their political opponents, rampage through city streets in the name of social justice, and claim the title of victim throughout. The oligarchs, ideologues, and dependent classes — the main constituents of today’s Democrat Party — all have something to gain from reviving Covid hysteria.

So when their chosen candidate and leader does something reminiscent of that dark time, everyone should pay attention. This is Harris’ “joyful” vision for the future, and Americans can expect a sequel to 2020 if she’s elected this November.

Tim Walz Reenlisted After 9/11’ Is The Latest Lie About His Military Record
The Federalist ^ | 08/21/2024 | Jason Beale
Posted on 8/21/2024, 12:30:59 PM

Just like claims that he served in war, or retired as a command sergeant major, the story Walz tells about reenlisting is not true.

When Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was introduced as Kamala Harris’ running mate, the campaign presented him as a bonified patriot, a career National Guardsman who retired as a command sergeant major after 24 years of faithful service to his country, including a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Walz enlisted two days after his 17th birthday in April 1981. As Walz tells it, when the planes hit the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, the attack compelled him to reenlist in lieu of his 20-year retirement, to carry out his patriotic duty to serve his country in a time of war. He then retired in 2005, years after his service obligation for retirement was satisfied.

But in fact, just like claims that he served in war, or retired as a command sergeant major, the story as Walz tells it is not true.

Serving in Combat and Rank
Walz is a serial fabulist. On Aug. 6, the same day Harris announced Walz as her choice for running mate, the Harris campaign posted a video on X in which Walz stated, “We can make sure those weapons of war, that I carried in war, are only carried in war.” Turns out Walz “misspoke.” To put it in more natural terms, he lied. On day one, the first video of Kamala Harris’ vice-presidential candidate released by the campaign contained within it a blatant lie about his military service that stepped right up to the line of what most military veterans would consider to be stolen valor.

The campaign’s pathetic explanation — that “In his 24 years of service, the Governor carried, fired and trained others to use weapons of war innumerable times” — did little to assuage the spidey senses of millions of normal people.

Other stories about Walz’s service began to fall apart under the enhanced scrutiny. He did not retire as a command sergeant major — he retired as a master sergeant, because he left before fulfilling his contractual obligation to complete the Sergeants Major Academy, a requirement to hold the rank to which he was conditionally frocked in September 2004.

Reenlisting after 9/11
My initial reaction to the narrative that Walz reenlisted after 9/11 out of a sense of patriotism was confusion, as his date of enlistment was April 1981 and one would expect, absent unusual circumstances involving extensions or breaks in service, his 20-year retirement date would have been April 2001 and any reenlistment or extension would’ve had to have been executed in April, months prior to Sept. 11, 2001.

So I looked into it. On Nov. 2, 2009, Walz sat down with a historian from the Library of Congress Veterans History Project to memorialize his service as a military veteran. During the course of Walz’s description of his service to his country, he related the following regarding his decision to reenlist after the 9/11 attacks:

My 20 years was actually, ironically enough, up that week of September 11, 2001, because of the time I had off and made up, so I reenlisted like, I think, the vast majority people did with a real uncertainty but wanting to with a real sense of wanting to do something.

That was a lie.

But there’s more. Three years earlier, in response to a letter to the editor of the Winona Daily News written by Tom Hagen, an Iraqi war combat veteran and former colleague of Walz in the 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery of the Minnesota Army National Guard, in which Hagen questioned Walz’s decision to retire within two months of receiving a warning order for his battalion to deploy to Iraq, Walz wrote the following:

After completing 20 years of service in 2001, I re-enlisted to serve our country for an additional four years following Sept. 11 and retired the year before my battalion was deployed to Iraq in order to run for Congress.

That, too, was a lie. Both of those quotes have been exclusively linked in news media stories as citations to support reporting that Walz “reenlisted after 9/11 when he could have retired, having reached 20 years of service in 2001.” If you Google “Tim Walz reenlisted after 9/11,” you’ll find pages upon pages of publications parroting the story Walz has told since his retirement in 2005. It’s not true.

CNN’s Dana Bash, during an interview with GOP vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance, repeated the Walz lie as follows: “Governor Walz served 24 years — he even stayed after he could’ve retired because of 9/11 — more than the country asked of him. Do you honor his service?”

Walz did not complete 20 years of service in September 2001. He didn’t “stay after he could’ve retired” because he wasn’t eligible to retire.

According to Walz’s Report of Separation and Record of Service, he was put on “ING” — Inactive National Guard — from Dec. 1, 1989, to July 12, 1990, a total of 7 months and 12 days of inactive service. Walz was reportedly teaching school in China during that period.

The Report of Separation also denotes a discrepancy between his “Total Service for Pay” and “Total Service for Retirement Pay.” That difference is 7 months and 12 days.

Had Walz wanted to retire after 20 years of service, he would not be eligible to do so until at least 7 months and 12 days after his enlistment anniversary date of April 8, 1981, barring further breaks in service or failure to acquire training and participation points to meet his annual obligations.

This would have put his eligible retirement date at Nov. 20, 2001, at the earliest — more than a month after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. At a minimum, Walz was blatantly lying in his Library of Congress Veterans Project interview about being eligible to retire, “ironically,” the week of Sept. 11, 2001.

But there’s more.

In response to media inquiries regarding the confusion around Walz’s service record, Army Col. Ryan Cochran, Minnesota National Guard’s Director of Manpower and Personnel, released the following information to the media on Aug. 13, 2024:

Media Members-

“Governor Tim Walz received his notification of eligibility for retirement on August 3, 2002. He was promoted to sergeant major (E-9) on September 17, 2004. and immediately began serving as the command sergeant major for the 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery while his packet was submitted to the National Guard Bureau to appoint him to command sergeant major (E-9). Once approved by NGB. he was laterally appointed to command sergeant major (E-9) on April 1, 2005. He retired from the Minnesota National Guard on May 16, 2005. Our records do not indicate when he made his request to retire. Leadership reviews and approves all requests to retire. He was administratively reduced to master sergeant (E-8) on May 15, 2005, because he did not complete all required U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy coursework.”

Take note of the first line — “Governor Tim Walz received his notification of eligibility for retirement on August 3, 2002.” This date apparently reflects additional service requirements in addition to making up his inactive time in China.

Walz would have been aware that he wasn’t eligible to retire “the same week as Sept. 11, 2001,” nor even the same year.

He simply wasn’t eligible to retire in 2001. The story we’ve been told by Walz, the Harris campaign, and the media is riddled with lies and misrepresentations of his service. He has, in two short weeks, proven to be an inveterate liar.

Release His Military Records
As is always the case when one leads with a lie, the question that needs to be answered is obvious — what else is he lying about? Will Bash and the hundreds of publications that perpetuated this lie correct the record and inform the public that the National Guard has refuted Walz’s characterization of the circumstances of his reenlistment?

Reporters with any sense of journalistic responsibility will want to ask Walz to either release all of his military records or at least reveal the date of his reenlistment in 2001 and the date he submitted his retirement papers in 2005.

Did he reenlist before (in his anniversary month of April) or after 9/11? Did he extend his service in April 1991 to cover the time he needed to retire at 20 years? How many years did he reenlist for? Did he receive a bonus for reenlisting and, if so, did he pay back the portion of the bonus for the time he cut off when he retired early?

What’s clear is that the Walz we were introduced to weeks ago — the soldier who reenlisted after 9/11 out of a patriotic duty to serve his country at war, who carried weapons in war, who deployed “in support of Operation Enduring Freedom” and retired as a command sergeant major — bears little resemblance to the Walz we have come to know later.

The retired command sergeant major is now a retired master sergeant. The patriotic reenlistment after 9/11 when he could have retired is now a mandatory reenlistment in 2001 after failing to meet his service requirement to retire after 20 years. The war veteran who carried weapons in war in support of Operation Enduring Freedom is now a soldier who deployed to Vicenza, Italy, to pull guard duty on front gates and crosswalks.

Walz said that he’s proud — “damn proud” — of his military service. But it’s clear that Walz’s pride is reserved for the noble service of the imaginary retired sergeant major, combat veteran he created for sale to the public — we’ve heard a lot about that guy. He doesn’t seem to have a sliver of pride for the real Walz — the retired master sergeant who left his unit two months before his only opportunity to serve his country and lead his troops in war. He hid that Walz from the public for two decades.

There will be more — it’s inevitable when dealing with a compulsive liar. What remains to be seen is whether or not the media has any interest in seeking answers to the obvious questions surrounding the legend of retired Master Sergeant Tim Walz.

Kamala Harris is coming for your house
American Thinker ^ | 21 Aug, 2024 | Monica Showalter

If you thought Kamala Harris's price controls scheme was straight out of the Book of Nicolás Maduro, wait till you see what she has in stores with her proposal for a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains.

According to Americans for Tax Reform:

The Harris-endorsed budget calls for an annual 25 percent minimum tax on the unrealized gains of individuals with income and assets that exceeding $100 million. Once in place, it won’t be long before the threshold is lowered to hit more and more Americans.

Americans overwhelmingly oppose taxes on unrealized gains, by a factor of three to one, including 76% of independents. Americans know that a “gain” isn’t “real” until it is actually realized, in hand.

What that means is that if you bought a house for $60,000 in the 1970s, and saw its value go up to $1,000,000 on Zillow last year (which isn't uncommon in places like California), you'd be on the hook for taxes on a million-dollar property, which would be more than you actually paid for the house, even though it's the same ordinary house you bought in a middle-class neighborhood back in the '70s and you haven't changed residences.

The same could be said of any homeowner, you'd buy a house for $300,000, but as its value rises to $1.2 million, your tax bill would clock in for a $1.2 million property, and not the $300,000 tract home you bought a few years earlier. If the market value went down by the time you sold, to say, $250,000, you will have spent tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on taxes while actually earning just $250,000 on your investment.

The same could be said of stocks, or crypto, or any asset, it's not just homes.

I agree.  I think he's a little sensitive right now.

Why do you think I am a little sensitive right now? The truth is I take politics and elections much less seriously than you might think. I've been around too long not to realize that no matter who the U.S. President is, most people manage to survive them. I know I have and so have my family and friends.

I sometimes find personal attacks against me and my family from a few folks on Getbig offensive and unnecessary. However, I have come to accept that they are all part of the 'game' here and in other social media today. People says things to other folks they would very likely never say to them in person if they are the least bit civilized. And, I always have the option of not participating, should something bother me too much or even if I am just bored with it and by them.

Because you are triggered by fairly innocuous comments being posted by internet strangers on a message board.

And it isn't a personal attack to say that you are being sensitive.

But it is true that we have a few keyboard warriors who say things on the board they would never say to someone's face.

When I referenced personal attacks, 'fairly innocuous comments' is not what came to mind. It was/is those attacks which are intentionally offensive and are deeply personal. It was not simple disagreements relating to politics or philosophical points of view that are to be expected on an internet forum such as this one.

Nowhere did I suggest I thought your comment about me being overly sensitive was personally offensive. You, like everyone else here, are entitled to your observations and opinions.

Thank you for acknowledging that there are those who say/post comments they would never say to someone's face... at least not any people I know personally or even folks who are casual acquaintances.

More Than 70 Percent Of Democrat Voters Don’t Know Kamala’s Policy Positions
The Federalist ^ | 08/22/2024 | Brianna Lyman
Posted on 8/22/2024, 1:55:01 PM by SeekAndFind

Left-wing corporate media’s non-stop defensive coverage of Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris is working, with a new poll from Media Research Center finding more than 70 percent of Democrats are unaware of what Harris’ policy positions are.

Media Research Center surveyed 1,200 “registered Democrats and Independents who voted for Joe Biden in 2020” and found that on 10 “different aspects of Harris’s public record … between 71% and 86% of these Democrats and Independents said they either had not heard of Harris’s position or were unsure.”

Data shows that when it comes to the key issues like immigration and crime, most Democrats and Independent-Biden supporters have been kept in the dark on Harris’ most communist-like stances. For example, 78% of voters surveyed were unaware that Harris promoted a fund that led to violent protesters being bailed out of jail during the 2020 riots. Seventy-five percent of those polled were unaware that Harris was once named “the most liberal U.S. senator in 2019.”

Seventy-four percent of those surveyed had no idea that Harris wanted to decriminalize illegally entering the country, while 72 percent were unaware that Harris “never visited a conflict zone on the border as Border Czar.”

Unsurprisingly, those surveyed told Media Research Center they get their news from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC.

“This suggests that the knowledge gaps found by our poll reveal a failure of these outlets to report on radical positions once (and perhaps currently) supported by the now-Democratic nominee for President,” according to Media Research Center.

Harris, as my colleague Ben Weingarten explains, “has flip-flopped on banning fracking, ‘decriminalizing’ illegal immigration, and providing universal government health care. She seeks to unburden herself from what has been. …”

Further analysis by the Media Research Center found that from July 21 to August 10, “eight of these ten issues received ZERO attention” from ABC, CBS, and NBC evening news, while the remaining two issues “received only minor coverage.”

Maybe we could cut some of these voters a little slack for not knowing Harris’ radical positions: she has yet to release any official proposals, clearly trying to memory-hole her entire career and devise a new (temporary) persona as a moderate. Thus far, however, she has talked of having the government control “politically inconvenient prices,” as my colleague David Harsanyi writes, and giving first-time home buyers $25,000.

That said, these voters deserve repudiation if they ultimately do vote for Harris without having any clue what her policy positions are.

But it’s the left-wing corporate media who deserve no mercy. Rather than having wall-to-wall coverage of the fact that the sitting vice president released no policy proposals and yet ascended to become the party’s nominee (via a coup, to be sure), the left-wing government mouthpieces — I mean, journalists — have ignored such reality.

In fact, during a recent episode of The New York Times’ “The Daily” podcast, politics reporter Astead Herndon laughed when asked what Harris’ administration might look like.

“We don’t know what type of president she would be,” he said. “Frankly, if you ask any Democrat, they would say that’s tomorrow’s problem, and as long as she wins the election and stops Donald Trump from winning another term, they don’t care.”

But a functioning media should care.

Yet, they refuse to put public pressure on Harris to sit down for an interview to explain how she’s going to fix the problems that her administration created. It’s not a heavy lift for them either: the left-wing corporate media sprung into action, providing wall-to-wall coverage of President Joe Biden’ cognitive decline when his decline became politically disadvantageous and necessitated the media’s help strong-arming him out of his nomination.

Low information voters.

Verses no valid information and massively gullible voters on the right, but not everyone on the right, so there is that. These are increasing numbers of Republicans who 'woke' up. and joined the 'never Trump' voters.

It might be a little difficult for you to understand so I will try to state it in a simple manner: this thread is called "Kamala Harris failures, corruption, destruction, and collapse thread" and the post was referring to a poll showing the majority of Democrat voters do not know Kamala's policy positions. Yet you got all butt-hurt and started with the "whataboutism".

She is really bad at this, in large part because she just isn't very smart.  I don't see how anyone can listen to this and not be concerned about putting her in charge of the country.

JUST IN: Kamala Harris gets caught flat-footed when a reporter asks her about Trump's policies.

*THIS* is exactly why Harris refuses to do sit-down interviews. She is so hard to watch.

I'll say it again:  if she cannot handle unscripted questions from reporters who will not be kissing her rear end, she isn't fit to deal with leaders of foreign countries.
