They changed the law. Civilians can get a carry permit in NJ. Use to be impossible but I know plenty of civilians that carry now. Funny they always choose a big gun so they can qualify. What you want is a small gun so you can conceal it but then it becomes hard for some to qualify with it.  I can carry in all states under a Federal law I carry under.

Sounds like it's still a pain in the azz though but can be done if you want to go through the bs.

Quite expensive with all the fees designed to make it a pain in the azz.

I think it's Virginia where civilians have to take a safety course then they can carry what ever they want. The safety course is good for five years. They don't even have to qualify.

I use to be a gun enthusiast. I was a really good shot but now I rarely shoot. Cleaning guns is a pain in the ass.  Now it seems the only time I get to the range is to qualify and it reflects in my shooting. My vision is going too.  Last time I qualified was about three weeks ago. I shot really good and made me think if I shot a couple of times a month I could get back my skills but I have no desire. Ammo is expensive too. The guns in my safe collect dust and unused. I have some really nice stuff too. My whole family is law enforcement from Federal, State and town. I should team up with one of them and get my ass to the range.  I have carried a gun for almost 40 years. Think I would carry the new high tech wonders but more times than most I carry a five shot revolver.
