He went into detail on that in his book.  Said it was back when he was so sick that his doctors thought he would die and Vince was causing all kind of legal problems for him as well.  It is to symbolize having his neck on the line.  He said something like "I felt like I had a knife being held up against my throat and I never wanted to forget what that feeling was like."

yes , if i remember right he got it after he beat frank mir, came back won a tough fight against shane carwin then the ufc forced him to fight again 4 months later thats when he lost to cain.

Yes.  He was smart.  He made a lot of money, but then again the WWE certainly did benefit from his conditions as well.  It turned the heavyweight champ title belt into something a little more special than it had been for the past two decades.  A throwback to the old times like when Flair was NWA champ.  If you wanted to see the champ, you had to shell out money.  Either going to matches or ordering the PPV.   No more of this giving away main event matches every Monday night for free.  Or stupid stipulations like Fatal Four Way title defenses where four guys fight at the same time and you can win the belt by pinning someone other than the champ.     It was good business.  Roman Reigns started off with the same formula but then they drifted him away.   Cody Rhodes now...   well a heavyweight champ should not be stuck in tag matches or whatever.

I think Brock deserves every penny he made and what he has coming in the future.

i totally agree he was and is there only special atrraction in fact i am positive he has or had the highest guranteed contract  in pro wrestling.  brock can still perform at a high level. its a shame kurt angle left when he did cause he was a great worker as well and legit athlete . many people said kurt angle learned wrestling faster than anyone ever in the wwe

I heard that with Kurt, it was basically the WWE trying to save him from himself.  That his addiction to painkillers and other drugs was compounded by the fact that he was very insecure and fearful that if he took time off to heal and rehab his injury (especially his neck), when he returned he would have lost his "spot" to other people.   He wanted to remain on top and was grinding himself down by eagerly taking on as much travel as he could and doing all kind of high spots in matches.    Vince tried some tough love and told Angle he had to enter rehab for the alcohol abuse (conveniently leaving out the drug addiction in the press release) and Kurt took it personal and instead jumped to the other smaller company.

But yeah.... Angle had it all.   The wrestling, the tools, the mic skills, the way he could piss people off to hate him.  He was another one in a million.

totally agree i remember bruce pritchard said he was working with a torn scrotum and didnt tell anyone he showed vince one day and vince was like take time off, he had a huge pain killer addiction . i am sure vince would have took him back after he got clean he took a huge pay cut going to tna as well.
