he looked really good but he got a lot better, especially in quads and back.
ronnie 1996's lat spread was nowhere near Ronnie 1998/9's.
and his quads got a lot more sliced. In 1996 they had some striations, but lacked deep seperation between the muscle groups.
By 1999 all this changed.

his quads got better.


his back got better.



his arms got better.
and his waist size stayed the same

Hulkster, you obviously haven't seen the 96 BFTO tape, Coleman's quads were as sliced as EVER. The thing about 96 is he fucked up and came in watery to the 96 olympia, but 2 weeks out he looked amazing, I would reckon just as good as he did in 98. 99 was certainly his best though.
You do need to remember as well, '93 Yates vs. '99 Coleman, they are both 257lbs, but Yates will be more muscular and dense. As much as each camp wants to deny the other's superiority, a 93 Yates versus 99 coleman would be an AMAZING showdown. Yates with the advantage in density and muscularity and Ronnie with the advantage in shape.
