but according to the pics and videos ::)

It is obvious to everyone that Jay did not exactly win by a landslide, yet the score seem to indicate this.

but if you look at all the threads on Jay vs ronnie, everyone says the same thing:

It was close  - both from the back and front.

Does it not strike you as odd that the score sheets show a dominant victory when all the pics and videos show that it was not?

oh, wait, you guys think dorian at his best was better than ronnie at his best - I forgot - you don't place much stock in pics and videos ::)

i wouldnt say that jay dominated ronnie, like dorian dominated everyone else.

but it was pretty clear that jay was the winner.  ronnie is just too old, jay is getting in his prime, and ronnie had some injuries.  hey shit happens. it was a good run for ronnie.  time to move on.

also, the pics and vids are subjective.  i see dorian clearly winning and you dont.  just different opinions.  but what is not subjective are the numbers.  they are absolute.

Ronnie was off, Jay was on for him.  Jay had him with width and Ronnie had more thickness.  However, Ronnie had a sheen of water that he had not had since 2001.  Even in 2004, he was hard as nails at the night show.  Clearly, his waist was bloated, his glutes not even close to being their usual ripped state and his back was sub-par for him.  If anything, Dex and Vic had the two best back double bicep shots in the show.  If Vic gets better legs, he will easily be Mr. Olympia.  I bet even ND appreciates his combo of size and shape.  Dex looked excellent, also.  Hulkster, admit it, our man was off.  He is obviously injured despite what his sis has to say.  At his peak, he was the best who ever lived.  However, he did not have the forsight to forego this Mr. Olympia when he knew he would not be able to come in at 100%.  It is sad but true.  I hope he skips the Grand Prix shows and goes back to the gym (or surgeon) soon so he can get back to the 280 pound behemoth who would Gutler cry in his soup.  If not, Vic will reign supreme soon.

PS...ND, Jay in his condition probably would have beaten Doz overall (not even close in the back) in 1994/1997.  However, I concur that Ronnie and Dorian in their prime would emasculate him.  He was lucky Ronnie tore a lat.  ;)

i think jay is the clear winner in those shots.

but it's close.

ronnie's left arm is a good inch smaller than his right one.

his lat is also fucked up.

ronnie was so off from what he's been, that the judges held that against him.  same thing if somemone makes improvments from year to year, they get rewarded - like vic this year.

jay is much harder, with better balance, and a better taper (that's for you hulkster and pumpster).

all ronnie has now is arms.

his quads are huge, but his small calves and smooth hams and glutes make the imbalance all the more obvious.

some of those pics it looks like ronnie has gyno.

hulkster,

a very important point regarding dorian.

dorian had sever injuries in at least 2 of his Olympia wins where his prep was severly compromised.

he never lost his title and in doing so beat some of the best guys of all time.

guys that have all the qualities you think a bber should have - details, shape, etc. - in flex, shawn, and kevin.

he also beat guys that were bigger than him in nasser and paul.

yet he was injured and still dominated.  ronnie had injuries and lost to cutler.

how about saying owned with a british accent??

Agreed, once you climb the mountain you will always be judged against that standard.  Think of Tiger and when he only wins one major a year; it is a disappointment.  Peace and excellent call Cold.

IceCold, remember though that Dorian only severely injured a bicep and maybe strained at best a quad.  He still had his torso intact.  Ronnie messed up big time.  His left lat, thigh and left arm were injured.  Whether it was arthritis that severely inhibited his training and he had atrophy or a verifiable tear; he knew he was not 100%.  I believe that the amount of crap he heard that he was untouchable did him in.  He came in off and paid the price.  Peace all.

yes, but dorian was also not 100 %.

he not only won, but beat better guys in the process than coleman has faced in his entire reign of Mr. Olympia.

THIS WON...really lame the Yates groupies with the non-stop praise for Yates as such a trooper  when in fact bottom line HE LOOKED LIKE SHIT. FAR WORSE THAN COLEMAN HAS EVER LOOKED AT THE OLYMPIA.

Which tells anyone with common sense to finally learn to read between the lines-there's more to the decisions than what's on stage. Get it (finally)? The contest is run by a highly commercial enterprise.  ::)

mass, hardness, and thickness like no one else.  your opinion he looks like shit.  not mine nor the judges.

its ok when it goes your way with ronnie, but not with dorian?

ronnie's 2006 apperance is the worst a current mr. olympia has ever looked.  his lose proves my point.

more to the decisions than what is on stage?  if ronne won you wouldnt be saying that.

when ronnie looses and dorian wins it comes down to politics and a 'commercial enterprise'.  but when ronnie wins, it's a different story.

hypocrite.

Just back from Venice Beach.  ;D

Coleman's in good company, including Oliva who was allowed to lose so it's no big deal; makes the show immediately interesting again, for a change. Long overdue; the only major injustice is subjecting him to this outcome onstage while allowing Yates & Haney unfair unjustified wins of their own. Why Weider didn't have a talk with Coleman about stepping down gracefully before the show I would like to know unless Ron's arrogance really hit the spot. His attitude was as big a part as anything I have a feeling, that and maybe just maybe someone finally convinced uncle joe to liven it up before the show got even more stale. ;)
In part due to timing, don't delude yourself (again). He wouldn't have gone out on top in different circumstances, deal with it.

Videos:

Dude, your boy lost flat out. The only things Ronnie had on Cutler, unquestionably, were quad mass and biceps. That's it. He might also have thicker pectoralis muscles, but the botom line is that Cutler had enough of it to, when taking into account his other advantages, take the side chest mandatory.

From the back, Ronnie endured the humiliation of having his former dominance not merely finished, but annihilated. Last year, Cutler had finally matched Ronnie for latissimus width, but Ronnie's lats were still clearly thicker; this year, Cutler not only surpassed Coleman for lat width, but also for thickness! Now, it is my opinion that Ronald sill had slighly crisper back details. But unfortunately, this wasn't enough to overcome Cutler's superiority at everything else from the back. I saw the pics comparing them from the back carefully, and it's obvious that Cutler had him on Latissimus, teres maor and minor, infra-spinatus, etc.

Politics? You have made this charge continuously, yet you haven't supplied any evidence for that; hence, it is only a conecture. "Politics" might explain how he won in 2001, but it cannot explain a margin of victory of 16 points: such a wide margin of points only comes from dominating the mandatories convincingly. Sorry, but true: you can't win that much points in the free posing round. Also, Pumpster, you still haven't explained to me, how having a White Anglo-Saxon - from Britain! - win the Olympia, makes more sense from a PR perspective than having a Black American man winning it. There is nothing more politically incorrect than having a White guy winning the title, so your charge that Dorian won Sandows against the likes of Shawn, Dillet, Levrone, Cormier, etc, because of "politics" makes no sense whatsoever. C'mon, I'm still waiting for your explanation... ::)

politics?

ok, lets give and keep giving the Olympia to a guy that only comes to the states 1 time per year to compete,  does not stay in america to go on tv or do any commercial work (cue jay leno with ronnie) and goes home to england where bbing is even less popular than in the US.

yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Who the hell cares? Arguing over who was more dominant during their reign is irrelevant. Dorian may have beat a prime Flex Wheeler, Kevin Levrone, Shawn Ray and Nasser El Sonbaty, but so would Ronnie in 03.

hahahahahahahahahahahhaa a
F*cking gift

What a crock of shit!!!

This really pissed me off, even with a host of shitty injuries at 43 Ronnie is still in better condition than Cutler's fat ass with a less obscene midsection and infinately superior detail. Cutler is like a big suntanned blob with inferior lines and comparitively non-existent definition.

Just look at the pics!!!

Perfect score for Cutler??

hahahahaha

Its arguably one of the worst decisions ever seen on the mr o stage.

The fix is so obvious that it reeks.

The I was better than Ronnie Coleman that night standard. Pretty much the entire industry including all the pros on here thought the same thing. Did you not see the show? Meh must have missed it.

watching the video of coleman on youtube, you can easily see how shitty he looks (compared to previous years).

he has a gut, his left arm is at least a full inch smaller than his right arm.  his right lat is much smaller than his left lat.  during his entire career, his back has never looked this bad.

all of his main assets are now useless.

at least with dorian, when he tore his biceps, they were never a strong point.

cutler came in huge and hard.  ronnie was smooth, holding water, and had fucked up bodyparts.

yeah, dorian had fucked up bodyparts too.  but he was still the biggest and most importantly, in the best condition of ANYONE in the show.

Crap like this is so blatantly biased as to fully discredit the author; Yates looked as bad and still won, so get with it just once. What's more interesting is the behind the scenes and why they departed from the usual gift-giving that Yates and others also benefitted from without paying a price.  ;D

There's no bigger one-dimensional fanatic than ND, who calls others zealots while refusing to acknowledge that Yates in the same condition didn't pay the same price.
